We booked this hotel several months ago and were excited to spend time in Tahoe at a pet friendly hotel with a pool. Imagine our surprise then that when we checked in and asked where the pool was located we were told the pool no longer existed - it had been filled in and covered with bricks. The hotel photos online are VERY misleading. The rooms are dated and dirty. The bathrooms are tiny with mold on the walls, peeling paint, and the worst lighting I've ever seen. Not only that but the placement of the shower head is a complete joke unless you're under 5 feet. Probably the worst thing about this place is the resort fee. They charge $12 per night for access to a beach (that doesn't allow dogs), a fire pit, and organic shampoo and soap. I've never heard of such a thing. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

Definitely does not deserve four stars. I agree with Mayanking -- it was not the worst place we have stayed, but certainly not worth what they charged. I, too read the reviews and thought I was getting a real deal. However, the bathroom was extremely small, with an even smaller shower (I am 5'2"). We had trouble using the sink fixture -- it was old and difficult to turn on and off. Overall, the room was dated and sorely in need of updating. The bed, which was a Tempurpedic, was great, and the location is good. The website indicated that there would be access to a beach, but upon arrival we were told that they did not have access this year. The staff was not very friendly and the hotel had no amenities. Finally, we were advised that we would be charged a daily resort fee. I guess that's how they make up for the deal you think you're getting through Expedia. I did not consider this property to be a resort. We will not return.

I usually read the reviews for hotels or any product extensively before i commit. I booked this hotel last minute on the phone. It wasn't the worst but for the money i should have gotten more. First of all, the close proximity to the casinos invites party people who are sometime inconsiderate of fellow occupants. This was the case my first of two nights i stayed. The police had to be called to quiet the occupants below me at 4am. To the staff's credit they were the ones to call police after they tried handling the rowdiness themselves after getting several complaints. My biggest gripe is the hotel's $12 a night "resort fee" for coffee in the lobby, "organic" soaps and shampoo in rooms(?) and wi fi access. Rip off especially since they don't have a pool/spa. If you want to use a pool you have to pay at a nearby private beach and the hotel will reimburse you upon showing a receipt. Just a tad inconvenient.

This place would had been nice if it wasn't so noisy...People are hanging out late, on the little "hallway porch" or early, in the morning with some unfinished business from the night before....and none complained about it!
The building is two sided ( not connected) so if it happens that you're running out of ice and the ice machine on your side doesn't work and then, you have to go around the building, walking down the street and... voila! You find it!
The room was clean, the bathroom, though, needed some magic touch....but overall, no bad.
We requested room service and they did a decent job....(maybe, because of the tip???!!)
Conclusion:The place has a good location but I don't think it's family oriented hotel!

This is a great hotel with cheap rates and great beds. The showers aren't the nicest but you get a fridge and those memory foam mattress beds. Plus, it's walking distance to the beach and casinos. This is a great place and I always love coming back. I will be back soon :)

Cleanliness is about the only thing this place has going for it. Being one of two people checking in, we were still forced to wait literally half an hour before being "checked in." The receptionist was clueless. He first gave us a room with a king bed though we requested two doubles. After forcing us to go back and check the room again to confirm that it was in fact not the correct room, we were finally checked in. Upon entering the room, it was absolutely freezing. However, it was clean. With so many options, this was just really not worth the hassle.

I don't what the bad reviews are all about. Nice updated clean room. Our room had a fridge and great comfortable bed. I would agree this isn't a suite at Harrahs but this isn't a motel 6 either. If you want a clean comfortable room in a great location stay here. Great value. We will be back.
