“Don't get the handicap accessible room and you should be fine!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

When we first checked in we got a regular room on the second floor but the key card wouldn't open the door so my husband had to go all the way back to the lobby around the other side of the building and got new cards which still didn't work. So back around to the lobby and was given keys to a new room which ended up being the handicap accessible room. It was fine, the rooms are decent but you can tell they didn't really update the bathroom in the handicap room. It does have a jet tub though which is sweet if you're into that sort of thing.

Well, there must have been a family of elephants in the room above us because I was woken up multiple times in the night by them stomping and running and being generally loud. The second night someone's TV was SO loud we were woken up by it at 2 am and could actually hear exactly what they were watching. The hotel doesn't have security I guess so the front desk guy said he could come check and if he could hear it outside he could knock. Well, of course he couldn't hear anything and meanwhile we've been kept awake for an hour. Finally my husband called again and requested keys to another room so that we could at least sleep there and then come back to our room in the morning. So he goes and gets the keys to the new room and what happens? They don't work. Again! So we have to go back to the room at 3am and it's cold and I'm in my pajamas to call the front desk so he can meet us when his master keycard to let us in. This room was DEAD SILENT. The difference between the handicap accessible room and this one was night and day in terms of noise penetration. Slept like a log.

Overall the hotel itself in the regular rooms is nice from what I saw for the short time I was in a normal room but try to get an upstairs room to avoid the elephants. We appreciate that the staff was able to accommodate us and move us to another room so we could sleep but man they need to do something about the sound proofing in that handicap room. The location is good, can walk to casinos and shops and entertainment.

Entered our room and the bed covers were disgusting. And the rest of the room appeared hastily cleaned. Shame, since this is a nice appearing site from outside and the rooms are decent. Just doesn't seem like the place is well managed and maintenance/cleaning is spotty.

Posturepedic beds were nice, though (once bed covers removed)

Shower was very small, not good for person with big bones and such.

Adding insult to injury, they tack on a RESORT FEE. Nothing mentioned until you check out--just added on to our bill at the end. Seemed like they were picking our pockets.

I made reservations four months in advance. I was quoted a price, when checking out the pricing was different than what I had been quoted, however it ended up the same amount total. Just confusion.
The room we had was a two queen bed. The room was dark, probably to hide the dingyness of the room. The walls were very dusty and there were cobwebs and dust on all the lamp shades.
The day we checked in we had to go get towels. Day 2 no wash clothes. Day 3 no wash clothes....must be a shortage I guess.
The parking lot is in need of lines repainted!!! You can't tell where to park andthere is always that rude person who takes up a couple spaces. If you come in later than 4 or so it is hard to find a spot to park.
Trash cans were always full. The cleaning crew just left the trash collected from room in big bags by the overfull trash cans. I was 2 trashbags and a full trash container on the second floor by the stairs left there for 2 days.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location!

We did not do our homework by reading the TripAdvisor reviews before we booked at Park Tahoe Inn, because it was recommended by our nephew for his wedding.

Our first indication that we would have "issues" with this motel was having to talk and e-mail with the staff and manager numerous times before our date of arrival to get our confirmation and fees correct. We had an uneasy feeling until we got there, but in the end, the reservation was correct.

The room was nothing special, but was in OK condition. The bathroom area was very cramped with a tiny little doorway between the main room. The small refrigerator was tucked under the counter in the perfect position to smack your toe into it when opening the small door to the shower area. Housekeeping was inconsistent - they did do a good job of cleaning the room and replacing towels, but every other day there were no washcloths; never an extra roll of TP.

There seemed to be a general lack of attention to details. The parking lot was not in the best of condition (potholes, broken glass) and the exterior walkways and hallways were dirty, littered and never cleaned the whole 4 days we were there. There were some weeds poking up around the pool area and sidewalk that should have been dealt with by the grounds crew.

The parking lot was too small - when the motel filled up, cars were crammed in everywhere.

The pool area was generally very nice. The pool was on the small side but still pretty nice. It had a maximum depth of 8 feet which is something you don't always see. The water temperature was awesome. The hot tub was kept at a nice hot temperature, but the water had a color to it. I don't know if it was the color of the internal paint, or the chemicals or what, but it wasn't very enticing.

The young woman at the front desk was very nice, courteous, helpful and welcoming. I wish there were more hotel desk people that had her skills.

Room Tip: Try for a 2nd floor room away from the inside stairways. Might get better rates by calling instead...

Dingy, but seemed fairly clean, except for the bathrooms. They need updating!

We stayed here for 1 night. The room was big and clean. The guy working in the front desk was very nice.

The location is also very good.

I like it very much.

July 2011 - We arrived to the Park Tahoe Inn "hotel" because of the walking distance to the surrounding restaurants and casinos. Okay, its true. We overpaid because we came on holiday otherwise this place shouldn't cost more than forty per night. Staff was friendly when checking in. We stayed in the "Superior 2 Queen" upstairs room. They have the usual: two nice mattresses with dirty bed covers (take your own bed sheet!), a television with four channels, cheap soap to wash your hands with but please take your own body soap - we did. Fact is, the only thing that makes this one step higher than the economy rooms is the refrigerator. Our downstairs neighbor kept the television on ALL night both nights we were there. Two doors down, some loud and obnoxious women were throwing an anger party and night staff did nothing about it. When other guests walk or run down the corridor, the whole room shakes. I came home more tired than I arrived. Also, we had two rooms. The family member who got the "superior king" room almost got a double charge on his credit card even though he paid for everything over the internet in ONE transaction. Please beware of this type of extra charge. Staff tried to say he only paid for one night which is NOT possible to book two nights and pay one night over their own website. Thank God for smartphones and email confirmations! Park Tahoe Inn also has two pools. One is used 24/7 and is probably super dirty since the second pool is out of service. Swim at own risk.
