“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

When I was looking for places around Lake Tahoe, this one stood out. The reviews are typically good, the location is excellent and it is one of very few timeshares with beachfront. They were remodeling the Baldwin (#5) building while I was there, so no beach view - but my room was nice and the whirlpool tub a welcomed surprise! I had to laugh that they inventory each and every utensil - some of which make no sense in a room with only a microwave to cook by! I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a separate in-room waste container for recyclable items - if you're going to remodel why wouldn't you install a bin for recycling? Yes, there's one at the end of the hall on the first floor - not convenient to most rooms. I was also disappointed that housekeeping only comes once a week. I was not told of this at check-in, and there are 'make up my room' door knob placards that apparently serve no purpose. For a location on a beach, you would expect a little sand to make its way into the rooms (it does). I'd much rather pay a little extra to have the daily service I receive in other timeshares.

That said, I really enjoyed my stay. The staff that I encountered were all friendly and helpful. There's a printer in the computer room so I was able to print my return boarding pass easily before I checked out. The location really is central to everything. Two miles in either direction on the highway will get you to most of the local happenings. As another reviewer said, the Emerald Queen is right next door - and the cruise is fun as well as providing the opportunity for ample great photographs to be taken. The beach has a spectacular view - I could have sat out there for the entire week! The weather was great the week I was there - in the high 60's/low 70's! Then it snowed two days after I left!

I'll be back every other year from now on, and look forward to the relaxing tub and great views!

It is so great to hear how many people say they are pleasantly surprised or unexpectedly happy with our resort and how they will now be repeat guests! We do have a wonderful private beach with amazing sunsets. The Tahoe Queen is right next door at the Ski Run Marina and we sell discounted tickets for both paddle wheelers that cruise the lake to registered guests. Thank you and we’ll see you in 2016!

Whenever we think of Lake Tahoe this wonderful place comes to mind. Whether one is a skier or just loves the natural beauty of the surrounding area this is the best place to stay. The rooms are huge, recently remodeled and the staff ready to help.

Room Tip: Take time to get to know the staff. You won't regret it!y

The people were extremely nice. We had reserved a one bedroom with a full kitchen but the only one available was in the building with extensive renovations going on. We opted for a newly renovated partial kitchen in another building. It was very nice and quiet. The renovations were excellent. The location is great, right on the lake, next to the marina where the Tahoe Queen is based, When they finish the renovations, this will be an excellent spot to base your Tahoe visit.

Room Tip: There are 5 building, Baldwin is being renovated now but when it is completed, it will be the prime...

We are thrilled with how well you enjoyed our newly remodeled rooms and we are getting closer to opening the Baldwin building back up! We are just a stone’s throw away from the Tahoe Queen and as a guest here I hope you had the time to go aboard and enjoy a discounted cruise by purchasing tickets at our Front Desk. Until next time!

From the check-in experience to the checkout, everything exceeded our expectations.. This hotel/resort is in the perfect location, and while walking around the resort, we were happy to see the Tahoe Queen was a few feet from the resort private beach. We were on the 2nd floor, off of a courtyard - we were very surprised it was so quiet. The beautifully remodeled rooms appear to be well insulated, the two sliding doors and two decks were very pleasant. We've been to many resorts for vacations, and this one seemed to be the most perfect - from well stocked kitchen, a wonderful king-sized bed with comfortable bedding and pillows, two flat screen TVs, large spa tub, and a very comfortable living room. We didn't take part in activities, but they were available. There was more than ample parking, and even though construction was going on, it was isolated and didn't appear to impact any guests. We will definitely stay here again when we visit So. Lake Tahoe.

Room Tip: Buildings #1, #2, or #3 off of the courtyard, 2nd or 3rd floor, would no doubt be the most quiet. O...

The one bedroom was comfortable and had two large bathrooms.
The jet bathtub in the en-suite bathroom was great! It was easy checking in. We stayed via timeshare which was fine. The staff were pleasant but the only downside was the additional room cleaning fee we were charged since our stay was for less than a week. The room was clean and updated. There were grills on-site which we used and it was nice. The jacuzzi closes at 10pm but it would great if they stayed open maybe an hour longer. It was a nice spot to stay for 2 nights.

Booked into this place for 2 nights as a base on arriving in SLT. Staff on arrival sickly sweet fake and robotic. No bed linen or towel changes unless you stay 5 nights or more.. Requested price for extra nights early into our stay. Was quoted way above internet price and advised they would only hold the room for a couple of hours as it was 'filling up'. We saw 2 other guests and I suspect less than 5% occupancy. Rooms ok. Beds ok. Just generally robotic and I'm not impressed that it's not easily known it's a time share. The only place we encountered just non interested staff or people during our stay in SLT. Overpriced and lifeless. And their on site restaurant is a Pizza Hut!

I stay here a few times a year to visit family, very safe for a solo traveler. The staff is so friendly. and the resort is very clean. The location is so central to all Tahoe has to offer and right on the Beach too!

Room Tip: One Bedrooms suites are very spacious.
