“Great place and will be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2011

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment in the Baldwin Building (Bldg 5). I would request staying in this building as its right on the private beach and swimming pool. Our apartment was fine for the 4 of us, with the 2 children sleeping on the sofa bed downstairs and us sleeping in the bedroom upstairs. The decor is typical of a ski resort and was clean and comfortable.
The private beach was great and always plenty of sunbeds, chairs, tables and BBQs avaliable. The staff were helpful, friendly and polite too, special mentions to Fionn, Melanie and Paul. There was a daily check on the beach to make sure we were guests of the TBS and not some random taking advantage of the nice beach.
The swimming pool is a little smaller than I thought it would be but good all the same. The hot tub is good too. My husband and I used the gym which has 1 treadmill, 2 bikes, 1 stepper and 1 eliptical along with weights, equipment is in good condition and very clean.
I would recommend the Sunday get together on the beach where continental breakfast is served free of charge and some representives of various companies and tours give a short speech and give out coupons. There is also alot going on at the TBS club. Our children took part in the 'beach bingo', 'pottery painting', 'mosiac making', 's'mores evening' and 'tie dying t-shirts'. You have to pay a small fee for most of these but with children aged 14 and 12 years it kept them entertained. We were given a calendar of the different activities that were taking place during our stay.
Also we were right by the small marina where the Tahoe Queen sails from, rental of boats, kayaks, pedaloes. Great restaurant called Rivas Grill (quite expensive but very nice) and a cafe called Wildwood or something similar to that?!
When we come back to Lake Tahoe would definately come back here to stay and can not recommend it enough!!!

We spent 1 week in Lake Tahoe and stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, very comfortable for 3 people. Our room had a great view of the lake and the mountains. We were there at what seemed like an off season time as it was too cold( yes, it snowed) for any water activities on the lake and the ski areas were closed. But we made the best of it by taking a bus tour around the lake and saw a black bear, a road trip to Reno, a visit to a natural hot spring and a ride on the Heavenly Gondola.

We stayed here since this is one of the timeshare properties available. We were very happy with the location and will definitely be back! The resort is right on the beach and Building 5 has rooms that face the lake. It was amazing to walk on a snow covered beach! The resort is also walking distance to Pizza Hut, Red Hut Cafe, KFC, and Riva Grill on the Lake, as well as the Marina shops. We were in Building 4 and used the shuttle stop at the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort to get to both the Heavenly gondola stop and Sierra at Tahoe. For supermarket choices, there's a Safeway and Rayley's closeby.

The rooms were slightly dated, but very clean and the room was spacious. We stayed in the 1 bedroom with a partial kitchen. It was more than enough for us. The bedroom was huge and the bed was comfortable. We realized our fridge was not working properly and the staff very quickly swapped out the fridge for us. The staff was also very helpful in providing tips for the shuttles and things to do around town.

The Sunday social hour was very helpful in providing us with tips and things to do around town, plus some freebies!

This is my second time staying in the 2 bedroom cabin and once again we had a GREAT visit. Found the cabin to be very clean, the full kitchen was great to have. It was really cold while we were there (Feb1-5th) so we made good use of the fireplace and central heating. Also played some board games that they had for use, and walked over to the beach and nearby pier. Free wi-fi was also a major plus.

We snowboarded one day at Heavenly and the proximity to this place was another great plus. I know we'll be back again soon :)

If you know what to expect at Tahoe Beach & Ski, you will not be disappointed. If you're expecting a premier hotel, you're certainly not going to get it here. However, Tahoe Beach and Ski will provide you with everything you should need to have a nice, comfortable stay.

We stayed in a one bedroom townhouse, and like other reviewers have written, we found it to have a certain cabin-like charm and appeal. Its two levels made it feel much bigger, and we loved the fact that the living area/kitchenette were separate from the bedroom...and hey, two bathrooms and two flat screens didn't hurt either. The downstairs bathroom had a shower, while the upstairs bath had a great jacuzzi tub to use after a long day of skiing. The kitchenette contained a half-refrigerator, a toaster oven and a microwave. It had all manner of dinner and utensils/appliances (including a coffee maker) to make a simple breakfast or lunch if you didn't want to eat out every meal (indeed we found this to be super convenient and a money saver). The unit was very clean and well-maintained, despite its slightly dated decor (again, think cabin charm). The staff was uber-helpful and nice to us, and as sad as it is so say, we're not used to that! Trevor at the front desk was especially accommodating: swift response to all our questions and requests. The fitness center had everything you needed as well--from treadmills, to an elliptical machine, to bikes. A weight machine and free weights completed the scenario. The Tahoe room in the Baldwin building has a huge flatscreen, dining table and games to serve as a gathering room for bigger groups and families. Lastly, the laundry facilities were great, so don't overpack!

The only big complaint we had was the noise from the upstairs neighbors. The floor/ceiling above us in the bedroom kept us up a couple of nights; enough to cause us to have to buy earplugs. The comfortable bed made up for the frustration, but again, be prepared for this if you're staying in a townhouse.

All in all, though, we really enjoyed our stay here and will come again the next time our plans include Tahoe. Have earplugs, will travel to Beach and Ski!

We stayed for a week at Tahoe Beach and ski Resort the week before Christmas through RCI exchange. We reserved a room with partial kitchen. ( I wanted a full kitchen one bed room but not available through RCI) Upon check in I asked if they had a better room available. The front desk told me if I pay $150 they can upgrade us to a full kitchen room. After agree to pay the extra the front desk clerk was nice enough to check me into a room facing the lake. . We stayed in the Baldwin building that is the last building on the lot. I guess that is probably the only building has rooms facing the lake. Even in this building there is only limited rooms can have the lake view. Our room number was 5201 and we had three balconies that can see the lake. The view was incredible. With snow, sunshine, fog, sunrise, sunset, full moon, the sceneries were different everyday.

The room itself was not in the best condition thought. The kitchen sink had a smell and we had to open the balcony door to reduce the smell. The furniture was very basic. But the lake view was worth and can compensate the room
We bought the ski tickets in the front desk with a discount. Don't rely on the bus of Heavenly or the Tahoe city. It is very inconvenient. After a few tries, we have to use our own transportation.

The resort had a heated pool which was open even with heavy snow. The sauna and exercise room was pretty good.

We stayed in the Baldwin building in a studio unit on the top floor with a partial view of the lake. We were very pleased with the staff who worked at the front desk and the activities staff at the resort.
The location is great. There are new BBQ grills with utensils on the beach areas and throughout the complex. We did not use the pool or the jacuzzi but the pool was nicely heated. The gym equipment is quite new.
It appears they finished painting the exterior of the buildings and were working on painting the fences around the property.
The property is older but nicely maintained. The furnishings within the unit are fine. There was a small refrigerator and ample small kitchen appliances and utensils for a comfy stay. The free WIFI in the unit was great to have.
This was not our first time to Lake Tahoe. However, it was the first time for us visiting in October. We enjoyed the beautiful fall colors and especially seeing the Kokanee salmons spawning at Taylor Creek.
