4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2009

After seeing some of the negative reviews..we were pleasantly surprised when seeing the room. It was nice and clean, spacious grounds with nice landscaping and pool area. We will definetly be returning. We come to the area often and this motel is one of the nicer ones...very nice staff, too.

We went to Tahoe for Celebrity Golf Tournament tournament....lots of fun & most celebrities are very nice!

Well situated on the main street for the main facilities.Clean tidy spacious rooms tea and coffee making facilities but have to pay for breakfast $5 per person which was provided in the bar area, usual american continental breakfast and more than adequate. On the main street 10 minutes walk up to the state line of Nevada and casinos and gambling hotels. 10 minutes the other way to the lake and lake cruises. 5 minutes from IHOP (yum yum). Plenty of eating places within easy walking distance but beware you may need a torch to walk back as there are no street lights!! Altough we stayed in June of this year through the day it was fine and sunny but the next morning we woke to discover frost on the roof and it was cold!!

This hotel, on the main drag in South Lake Tahoe, would be nothing special if not for the incredibly attentive staff. It's a cheap place to stay, with slightly dingy but clean rooms.
But we were amazed by how considerate the staff was. For example, my husband picked up a tray of food at the continental breakfast to take back to the room. They rushed to open the door for him. Restaurant recommendations were given after careful thought. Check-in was done with the deliberate care and courtesy you might expect at the Ritz.
With a few room upgrades, this could become a wonderful place to stay.

We went to the place after seeing some poor reviews.... But the overall experiance was great .. Great room with two beds and all the facilities we wanted when there is really heavy snow outside !! . There were two heaters in the room and the room was neat and clean.
The most important thing was the great free continental Breakfast .. It was really excellant compared to the small muffins and coffee we get from most other hotels we stayed till now. There were more than 15 items to have in break fast ....
Also it was very near to Entertainment and food alike - walking distance to casinos and Hotels like IHOP , Dennys and good indian food served right inside the hotel premises ( But we need to wait for sooooooooo long to get the food )

Pros: Great room, excellent breakfast, Free parking, WiFi,Good room service every day, Good Reception, location
Cons: Bath room ( old , door cannot be loacked, etc)

This hotel ripped me off. I was charged not only for changing my room from one to two bed. But for every person in the room. The Room total was a little below $300 and there was nothing to show for it. The pool was dirty and water low. The front desk clerk would not tell me the reasons for all of the costs. The room was very small and oddly decorated. I felt like I was in 1993. I will never ever stay at this place again. This hotel chooses to charge high prices and profit than continue to refurb a property in the beautiful S. Lake Tahoe area. The only thing I enjoyed about the hotel was the free internet, although it did end up going down during the morning of my checkout. This hotel needs to reconsider nickel and diming its guests.

This place was filthy dirty. The shower had unidentified stains, the air-conditioner was in the bathroom (?) so that got nice and cool while we were swealtering in the bedroom. The internet and cable was out for the day. The price was astronomical for such a dive. The Rodeway Inn was better than this place. The room decor was late 70's and looked as old. The management seemed put out at requests and saw nothing wrong with the A/C being in the bathroom. STEER CLEAR. This is not a "normal" Quality Inn.

I stayed at the Quality Inn in South Lake Tahoe for the third time this year.

It is sitauted on the main route, within walking distance to the Heavenly Village and the Nevada Casino's. The ski bus stops just outside so you can get to the slopes just as quickly without paying the premium for slopeside accommodation.

The rooms are comfortable and not too far away from more expensive four star alternatives in resort, particluarly when it comes to space.

The greatest thing about this hotel however is the service received from all the staff. The front desk staff go out of their way to help, the cleaners are thorough and the management staff are friendly and approachable.

Many thanks to all the staff for making my stay as enjoyable as always. Hopefully, I will be seeing you all next year.

Richard
