Service:
To start, the customer assistants were very accommodating. We were not going to get there until 2 am and they said it was no problem and they would hold our room. They were expecting us when we arrived and promptly checked us in. They then gave us a 30 minute late check out when requested.

Rooms:
We got the 1 Queen suite with a Jacuzzi tub for only $69 on a Saturday night!!!! I believe the other rooms were about $49 for 2 queen beds. The room was very basic, but pretty spacious. There was a vanity alcove that adds much needed space if your traveling with a group or family. Nothing was updated, but that was to be expected. However, everything was clean and in good working order.

Summary:
I'm giving this hotel a 4 of 5 because for hotels under $50 in Lake Tahoe, this is one of the best your going to get. With that in mind: If you are just passing through and you are only wanting to spend $50 or so then this IS A GREAT place for you. If you are on a budget and want to stay on the California side of Tahoe and not the Nevada side, then this IS A GREAT PLACE FOR YOU. If you are willing to pay twice as much, want something more modern/updated, are willing to stay in a Nevada casino (like Harrahs), then this IS NOT the place for you.

Tip: Know what you want/need in a hotel room and then get an unbiased view of what you are booking. A great hotel for me may not mean a great hotel for you and vice versa.

The Days Inn in South Lake Tahoe was a great value and super location. The rooms were clean if some what in an older motel. The staff was super too. We enjoyed our stay.

We were passing through Tahoe from SF and were unfamiliar with town. Needed a bed for the night and $50 for two queens in a quiet location was ideal. Out of season other hotels still charge peak prices. Days inn is simple honest and clean.

We stayed here for 2 nights and would not stay here again. It's an older hotel/motel and the rooms and furnishing are very tired. Old bedspreads (most likely not clean as noted by another reviewer), stained chair covers (yuck), broken furniture, just not particularly nice. The bathroom was big enough and there was plenty of hot water, but the towels were super thin and mismatched. The beds were not very comfortable, probably because of the rubber like mattress pad cover under the sheets. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the giggles of teenage girls through the wall well into the night, as well as some folks in the parking lot who returned at 2am. This is not the hotel's fault but there is major construction on the street so getting in and out of the hotel was challenging.

This was my first time to the area and I will look for something a little less seedy for my next visit.
