“Great time in Tahoe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

We were booked into Aston Lakeland Village by a travel group. We arrived mid afternoon on Thursday and were greeted by a very welcoming front desk group. I had called a couple of times prior to leaving and was always very pleased with the folks I spoke with - very helpful. The shuttle service was a great added amenity - they were "johnny-on-the-spot" with their service. True enough the rooms are dated and could definitely use some attention but considering the age of the complex this is to be expected. To the general manager - you have a GREAT team member in Alex - he is a very kind, caring individual and was most helpful answering questions and taking care of our every need. I would definitely recommend this place and should I ever return to Tahoe I would stay here again.

We arrived late on Thursday and were greeted by a welcoming front desk staff that provided us with everything we needed.

The room was perfect, and the crib we had requested was already set up and ready to go. All the comforts of home and if there was anything we needed, I knew they would take care of us.

Over the next four days our family had a great time and whenever we went by the lobby for a cup of coffee or a question, we were greeted by the best hotel staff I have seen in a long time.

The main person I spoke to was the evening manager, Bryan Early, I would recommend to senior management at this hotel; you have a quality person on your team with this young man. He is the reason we will be coming back. He treated us like we were old friends, it was a pleasure.

Hopefully we will get some more snow and my family and I will have the pleasure of returning to this wonderful property.

We spent our anniversary here and absolutely loved it. Not only do you get to be right on the lake and have breathtaking views but you also get discounted prices on skiing activities, snowmobiling, and local cruises. We will be staying here on every future trip of ours.

The main reason, I booked the Lakeland, was the 4-star rating of the hotel. The property doesn't deserve its 4-star category. Complimentary shuttle zoomed by past us twice and we had to wait 30 minutes to be picked up with our ski equipment; gave up and paid for a taxi. When we finally arrived at the hotel, our room key didn't work. The front office clerk did not even apologize when I advised that the key doesn't work; instead he just said "Oh, ok"...
When we finally made it to our room, we were unpleasantly surprised by the fact that room was not cleaned. My 8-year old daughter even made a comment: "Why is there a "Do Not Disturb" sign, if no one disturbs you?"
We will not recommend or return to the Lakeland resort.

There were 9 of us and we went to Tahoe on a Groupon Deal that was for Aston Lakeland Village. The pictures are not what the actual place is. The free breakfast is available but is so crowded and smokey (I think due to burnt toast or something similar) that it left little to be desired. We just wanted to get our food and bring it back to the room for breakfast. We stayed in a two bedroom townhouse and everything was very old and run down. The catch for the lock on the door was coming off into our room. The smoke detector needed batteries changing and beeped the whole time. One of the good things about the place is the shuttle service - that is very nice. Overall this is not what one is expecting. I would recommend staying else where.

Dear DanyKelly,
Thank you for your TripAdvisor posting and for staying with us. We sincerely apologize for your experience in our breakfast room, which can get crowded during busy periods. We do allow guests to take your breakfast back to your unit if the room is full or crowded, and I hope this assists in providing a better experience. Thank you also for bringing to our attention the room items you outlined, and we will be immediately remedying these areas. I also appreciate your positive comments on our shuttle services, and they are indeed enjoyed by many of our guests during their stay. Please email back if I can be of any assistance to you in the future, at jerry.bindel@astonhotels.com, or if you would like to revisit us in the future. Thank you again for your posting.

Stayed for 12 days in the lodge, our only complaint would be the thin walls, which only became apparent after a noisy family moved in next door otherwise all good. Friendly staff, good housekeeping and great facilities, especially the on-demand transport taking you to anywhere you need to go and picking you up later. Complimentary breakfast is basic but adequate. Overall well located and reasonable value.

3rd time in Tahoe and first time self catering.
First Townhouse we got (412) was shocking!
Heating did not work (minus 2 outside) and the electrics blew when we got a heating fan, so the first night was not the best best , as no one on site knew what to do!
Moved to 459 in the morning and it was an excellent house, with full working amenities!

Location is great for California Base, which is recommended over the Gondola all day long!

Free bus service to anywhere in S L Tahoe is a nice and helpfull touch!
