“Think Embassy Suites Layout”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013 via mobile

Nice spacious rooms, nice lobby and a good breakfast. The facilities and location are very good. Unfortunately they charge $25 for parking and also charge for WiFi, that is a one star deduction. Staff was always friendly and helpful. The legacy tube TV's were quaint.

My husband and I combined a work trip with some vacation time in Lake Tahoe. Our meetings were held at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.

The hotel has kept the complimentary breakfast and Manager's Reception that are offered by Embassy Suites. The breakfast was really good! Scrambled eggs were fully cooked and the bacon was crispy. They always had plenty of fresh fruit and hot coffee. The Manager's Reception was more than beer and wine. They offered mixed drinks, as well, with VERY friendly and fun bartenders. Freshly popped corn was a huge hit. Great way to draw folks in!

While we were a small group, the meeting space was very nice and well set-up. The room was quiet and clean and the chairs were comfortable.

Our sleeping room was very nice. While it was not one of the more recently refurbished, it was not out of date. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. Everything was really clean. Loved the bathroom amenities!

The trickiest part of the stay was parking. Their is no self-parking, so you always have to give the car to the valet. So, if you need to get things in and out of your car, it's a hassle.

Otherwise, ALL of the staff we came into contact with were wonderful. Hope we get the chance to go back!

This was our second stay at this hotel. The first time was when it was still an Embassy Suites hotel. We loved the hotel last time and I was curious to see what it would be like now that it's changed hands. Honestly, the only difference I saw was that the appetizers at the Manager's Reception were a little less than last time. The rooms - true two bedroom suites - are wonderful with great views of the mountains. The staff is very nice. It is an excellent locations, across the street from the Nevada border, 20-25 minute walk to the lake. The suites are very quiet. Really, we love this place and will stay there again. A little pricey but worth it.

Room Tip: We have only stayed on the Harrah's side, it has great views!

This is a true 5 star hotel. I am a tour director arrived here this evening with 37 guests. Many of them said this is the best hotel they have ever seen. The manager's reception they offered us was superb. The rooms seem more like a lush apartment than a hotel room. The only downside is the fact that we are only here for one night.

My daughter & I went up for just the night since we had business on Sat in nearby Carson City. We found the staff very helpful, the accommodations really nice and the restaurant very, very good. It's a great family place, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the casinos but close enough to make a short walk to enjoy some adult entertainment. Formerly and Embassy Suites hotel, which we love, the whole layout of the hotel is very nice. The managers welcome with the free drinks is especially nice. As I stated, the restaurant food was really good but it was also cozy and comfortable. Not like a big noisy restaurant but more of a comfortable, quiet place to enjoy an excellent meal. The only negative think I would say is in our room, two of the lamps had very loose fixtures and made me a little worried about getting shocked. In the main room, you had to hold the lamp fixture in order to get the lamp to stay on. I should have reported this but failed to as we hurried out the next morning. In the bedroom, we had to bang on the fixture to get the lamp to come on after we turned the switch. Other than that, a great place.

Hotel recently changed from an Embassy Suites. Layout of hotel, open structure, water features are all nice. Hotel rooms are just ok. Several large carpet stains, shower doesn't drain well but the rooms are relatively clean (which is very important to me). One floor appears to be undergoing a remodel as there are mattresses on the indoor balcony. Lots of nearby restaurants, casinos are 20 feet away. Rates are good.

I have stayed at this hotel for the past eight years. It continues to offer clean, comfortable rooms with a nice lobby. There aren't any great views from your room, but there is ample space in your suite to relax and stay during your visit. The free breakfast served offers a variety of hot foods, breads, fruit, drinks, etc. to satisfy most appetites. However, I do miss the omelet station from previous years. There is also a Manager's Reception in the evening with some type of snack and drinks at no charge. (Alcoholic as well as others) Thea at the front desk is one of the most friendly, helpful people I have encountered at a hotel. Augustin, of housekeeping, is sure to put a smile on anyone's face! Both of these employees are true assets to the resort. The only thing I was disappointed in was the quality of the mattress in my room. It sank as soon as you sat on it. However, I will continue to return to the great hotel. If you come during ski season, they do offer storage off the lobby, so I am sure that is a great benefit. Being on the California side, it does not have the strong odor of smoke like the hotels on the opposite corners. This is a great place for a getaway, business, or family travel.

Room Tip: If you want easy access to the breakfast area, try to stay on the second floor.
