“Fun 4th weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We stayed here over the July 4th weekend. The bar had just opened but the onsite restaurant was not ready. Excellent location but beach is hardly private, many locals and pets. Facility is pet friendly which is great except for a few yappy dogs in adjoining rooms. Staff was Truly Awesome! Ice machines are very limited but bar staff had no problem in loading you up. We will Definitely stay here again.

I had a great time at the resort, they recently renovated and it was pretty obvious. The rooms were clean and cute, the blackout curtains are key, especially if you get a lakefront room (which I recommend because you can scope out how busy the beach is) They had rentals for everything you would want and the dock was so beautiful to walk out to.
The grocery store across the street was very convenient and and the coffee place cup o cherries was AMAZING which was helpful because the coffee makers in the room weren't clean and it made the free Starbucks coffee taste horrible. The ice machine nearest to our room was broken but we found one by the pool that worked.
The location of this place is key, everything is less than 10 min away and a lot is walking distance which I always love.
We went to Fallen Leaf lake, an art fair nearby, and some cool restaurants!
Overall, our stay was pleasant and we would totally come back here.

Room Tip: Most restaurants close at 9/10 so plan for early dinners!

I was very pleased with my stay here. the rooms were adorable the food was amazing and the music got everybody up and dancing. everything about this hotel was perfect in my eyes, they had a pool and a hot tub, a beach that walked into the lake, and tons of toys and things to do for my kids. I will defiantly recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and will hopefully be returning soon

Room Tip: -the beachfront rooms have great views/easy access to the beach

I was so impressed with this hotel renovation I tried to get myself a job there! We loved everything from our beachfront room with nautical décor, the views amazing, all the great water sports rentals right in front of us from paddle boards to jet skis to sailboats to power boats; the cute dock boys, the live music Friday and Saturday nights with the lake as our backdrop; the pool was clean and lounges super comfy; the bartenders at the Tavern were very attentive and great wine selection; the cooks were friendly and even took pictures with our kids; the food at the Boathouse on the pier was outstanding especially the salmon; and the location overall was superb! To top it off there is a grocery store across the street with a Starbucks too! I wish we could have stayed for a month! Already planning a girls weekend in September and my 50th birthday in 2017! I haven't stopped talking about The Tahoe Beach Retreat since we left!

Room Tip: Beachfront Room 304 is the bomb! Gorgeous views!

Rooms were clean, beach access, great band on Friday night, outdoor fire pit, and Friday night movies for the kids. Will stay here again.

The bad: Paid for a room with full view of the lake, got a very partial view. Should review the definition of full view.

I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff was so unable to perform their jobs. Rude doesn't even come close in describing how they dealt with a problem, even speaking to the manager was of no use. Stay anywhere but here. The bed was uncomfortable, our room was next to a garbage dump. I couldn't see it because of a fence but I could smell it every time I open the door. I asked for a refrigerator but none was delivered. If you call them direct for a reservation you will get a little taste of how much they care about the people who stay at their hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room at a different hotel!

Stayed here over the fourth as we wanted to be able to see the fireworks. We were told wrist bands would be handed out to make sure it was just hotel guests at the beach/pier for the fireworks. Once we arrived we were told you would have to pay $10 per person for the wrist bands to watch from the pier and the rest of the property was open to the general public...and they were everywhere. Very very drunk young adults everywhere. Very unfortunate as there were many families with young children around.

Hotel also advertised our room as a garden view. It was a view of the parking lot on both sides. Room was clean. That was the only positive. No mini fridge for drinks, ice machines were out of ice. One pool that was always overcrowded.
