“SO peaceful So interesting!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Large area ontaining trip to the past Small homes that were servants quarters, kitchen, laundry, library, A cool front porch with wicker chairs so you can sit and look at the lake. History inside the large home. The Nannys cottage everything has period furnishings and you can walk right down to the lake. It is free and has parking Everyone I have taken there is just amazed Truly a "secret" place alot of tourist don't know about at Tahoe!!!

If you have time around Camp Richardson, this is a great spot to stop, enjoy the scenery and take a look into the not so distant past of those who have way too much money!!

“Fun and free!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We stopped here in the evening so the museum and most buildings were closed. However, it was still possible to walk the grounds, read the informational plaques, and look into rooms through the open doors (with protective screens/bars). It is in a lovely setting right by the lake and is a fascinating portrait of an era.

“Very interesting walk around the estates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stopped for lunch at The Beacon at Camp Richardson and asked an employee if we could walk from there to the Tallac Historic site, he said it was a short walk along the beach, so off we went. Maybe a 10-minute walk from there to the historic site. We spent the next hour and a half looking at all of the different homes, and other buildings on the grounds, servants' quarters, tutor's quarters, although the buildings were closed, you could look through the windows and see original furnishings, clothing, food items, etc. the museum on the Baldwin Estate was very interesting, lots to read and a video that told you about the families that once spent their summers on the estate. Very enjoyable walk around the estates on the edge of the lake.
