“Good Value and Location for SLT”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Quaint and comfortable small hotel right in the heart of SLT. Walking distance to many restaurants and Heavenly village. No air conditioning yet (in process) but opening the windows and using the fan was more than enough to cool the room down. Very interesting history and decor, unlike anywhere else we had ever been before. One suggestion for the hotel would be to have more employees at the front desk; for instance, we had to wait in line for quite awhile to just get a couple towels for the pool. There can be quite a bottleneck with only one person covering the desk. Not the end of the world by any means but would be a welcome improvement.

Room Tip: Book through the hotel itself

This hotel was such an amazing find. Not only was it walking distance to a lot of amazing spots (beach, shopping, restaurants, state line, etc) but the level of service was beyond amazing.

Working in the service industry myself I tend to have very high expectations and when they are not often exceeded. This hotel did just that. The environment was very peaceful. Beds were super comfortable. Room was just big enough. Spa and Pool are open until midnight which makes for a great late night dip after an evening out.

For the moment I called to book my stay the staff was very welcoming. Giving thoughtful recommendations and being very welcoming. Jesse and Doug at the front desk were extremely helpful in helping my mother and I with what to do during our stay up in Lake Tahoe. Doug was very friendly and gave some great suggestions for doing the dinner cruise which my mother and I really enjoyed. Jesse was extremely welcoming and gave some great great recommendations of the best local spots to hike, hang out, rent paddle boards, and eat. HIs suggestions ensured that my mother and I had a great time during our stay up in Lake Tahoe. The level of service that Jesse and Doug displayed is hard to find. It created a very welcoming atmosphere and ensured that when I come back to Tahoe there is no place I would rather stay.

I've traveled a lot and stayed in many hotels. This was bar none one of the best experiences I've ever had. Stay here. I promise you wont regret it. If anything you will wonder how you got such an amazing value for your money.

We stayed here and were disappointed. The beds are full size not queen! The room is basic and I would not stay here again. There's no air conditioning and the floor fan they provide was noisy and we couldn't sleep with it on, so we sweaty most of the night.

Thanks for your review. The AC is going in right now! Its gotten hotter and hotter in Tahoe over the last few years and though we designed the building to be naturally cool, it just not enough on these warmer days.

You probably were in a standard room if you had full sized beds. You can upgrade to a deluxe and you'll get the queens.

Our 968 Park Hotel stay was a delightful experience, especially as a fan of modern and eco-friendly remodels. 968 Park is conveniently located within walking distance of the Heavenly Ski Resort tram and Stateline casino strip, a few blocks from a gorgeous Lake Tahoe beach and Lakeside Marina, and close to lots of great restaurants and bars. However, it is also tucked in perfectly from pedestrian and street traffic, ensuring a good night sleep to the patrons.

The rooms are comfortable and modest in size, with stylish and new interior remodels. The beds and linens are brand new, with high tread count sheets (a bonus for us). Our room had a Keurig coffee maker, flat screen and darling furniture. 968 is a perfect option for outdoor sports enthusiasts, like us, who want a cool, clean and fun hotel to crash. The regulars definitely seem to be young and active adults... think outdoor sports meets artsy.
Sara, Jake, Doug and the entire hotel staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating throughout our recent 4 night stay. They were filled with great recommendations and ensured that we were familiar with the all-included spa services and unique hotel features including the sustainable local products (new and eco-friendly linens, natural bath products, etc.), the heated salt pool (GREAT for post outdoor activities), clean and spacious hot tub (open til midnight), friday night free local Nor Cal wine tasting, best use of the environmentally friendly fan cooling system, etc.

Keeley was an awesome host in 968 Park's lobby wine bar. She had great knowledge of all their local wine and beer pours. She, and all of the 968 staff, had great suggestions for dining and local entertainment. They have free acoustic entertainment every Saturday, too.

If you are looking for a cute, clean, modest yet cool-kid artsy (I won't use the word hipster...), go here. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the "cedar side" of the building, as they are known to be a little bit c...

This was a very over priced MOTEL.. the room had barn wood on the walls as a coverup of
an old motel to look hip.
very very basic
the sauna , etc was out of commission.. zero amenities and it was very overpriced.
I was ok spending the money for a key holiday window .. but the hotel photos and
details were inaccurate..

Room Tip: the room we had was on park and we had to have the window open. VERY noisy.

Looked so great in the pictures and description. Thought it would be hip and trendy. OMG. The room was tiny and looked out onto a parking area, as do all the rooms. NO AIR CONDITIONING. It was hot as hell up there and the room was stuffy and hot, as well as very dated. The people were very nice and friendly but I left and they did give me back my money.

Room Tip: there aren't any

Our AC is being installed right now!

Was wondering though why you thought we are dated? The hotel is only 5 years old and everything is brand new, we have mp3 compatible radios, flat screen TVs, lighting fast WIFI, cabanas at the pool, brand new bar plus we are constantly updating. Please feel free to email me your thoughts at info@968parkhotel.com

Thanks!
