“Lovely place to relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Although not the most logical place to end up at while on a business trip, I'm so glad the hotel we usually stay was full so we had to find this alternative.
The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the staff is awesome, food is great.
The view is to die for, we were literally whale watching from our breakfast table!
Robert has a lot of tips about the surroundings and Luciano makes sure to look after you, all in a very welcoming and relaxed way.
Can't wait to come back, but then on a real holiday this time, no work involved!

I would, without hesitation, recommend Amigo Lodge. The rooms were clean and fresh and Robert and his staff, particularly Luciano, who had an awesome super early pre-dive breakfast ready for me every morning, were fantastic, super helpful and obliging. Thanks Robert and co. for really making my stay pretty near on perfect.

Amigo Lodge offers a different and quite unique option when it comes to staying in the Tofo - Tofinho area of Mozambique. It has on of the most privileged locations, being just two minutes walk from the extraordinary Tofinho beach. From there you can easily reach the much busier Tofo beach or head south and explore the amazing beaches where you'll find nobody except local fishermen. So we highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing stay in the area and at the same time enjoy the wide range of activities that Tofo offers. The facilities are very cozy and Carolina -the cleaning lady- has them extremely clean and tidy. Robert will help you with everything you may need and will happily recommend you the best places to eat in Tofo. The rest of the staff is super nice and they will make you feel like home. The breakfasts are very good also and the views while eating are just amazing. Make sure you eat at least one night in Amigo Lodge: the cook is superb and you'll probably have one of the best meals in your trip. You have to tell Robert in advance.

An excellent place to stay. The people so friendly and helpful. Great views. We swam, walked, ate and read. Robert organised 2X excellent meals for us with fish straight from the beach. One good walk from Barra took 21/2 hours along the beach. Think we did a PB!!

very nice and quite affordable B&B at Tofinho. Indeed the road to Amigo Lodge is a bit of adventure . It could be in a better condition. However, that's nothing the team of the Amigo Lodge should be blamed for. Rooms are nice decorated, do have fans (which was fine for us during the low temperatures of the winter season.) Unfortunately they don't have a fridge but we didn't really miss that. The bathroom are o.k. - the shower in our room was quite small and has seen better days but again it didn't bother us.

Luciano (the manager) provides a nice breakfast with yoghurt, crereals, coffee/tea and eggs in different variations, white or brown toast with jam, peanut butter, a kind of nutella and a quite yummy passion-fruit jam.

Robert, a very nice guy from Barcelona runs the place and has put a lot of attention to detail into the Amigo Lodge. We actually had some problems with our luggage as the Mozambican Airline lost it. Robert and Lorien from the travel agency Terra Agua Ceu (www.travel2mozambique.com) were a great help and made sure that we received our luggage the next day.

During our stay we could watch Humback whales from the terrace of the Amigo Lodge - which was great.

A quiet place away from the buzz in Tofo. It's a bit of a hike to get to the restaurants and activities in Tofo but Barbara, the owner, was kind to take us in the car as we didn't feel comfortable walking in the dark. Breakfast was amazing and beautifully set up.

Amigo is a very nice place, well presented and clean. During our 3 nights stay we had great breakfasts and one amazing dinner. Everything was made with extreme care and the taste was fabulous. It’s in Tofinho, 10 minute walking from path 15 from the beach. If Robert is around he’s always willing to take you to the center by car, which is useful, especially during the night. The staff is super friendly.

Room Tip: Dolphin is a great room. It had a balcony with sea view. Maybe an upper room would have more view. D...
