We are a family of 4 with children ages 7 and 3. We visited Lightwater Valley on 8th April 2013.
The weather wasn't great but we still had a good day out.
There were 2 magic shows and a magic workshop at intervals during the day (lasting roughly 20 mins) inside, enabling us to warm up before braving the cold for a few more rides. The magician who ran the workshop was particularly good, very enthusiastic and friendly. The kids enjoyed learning a few tricks.
The park is always super clean and the staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful even though they must have been freezing.
There were no queues at all at this time of year and we haven't had to queue on previous visits either which was one of the reasons for choosing Lightwater this time.
I would say that children need to be around 1m in height to get on enough rides to make it worth while and that it is more for younger children as there aren't many big thrill rides
The first few rides as you enter could do with a bit of a revamp but that really is just being picky.
