“Never again will I stay at the Mirabeau”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2009

One very old hotel, no security, carpets and furnishings from the 1960s. The staff was pleasant but the hotel is so old and if any renovations have occurred they don't show. The lightbulbs are ultra dim - maybe 10 watts each in the hallways and in the room. The mattress needed to be replaced years ago but this is what you get for $ 80 in Spokane. Never again -

Beware that if you go through Priceline you will be put in the rooms at the back which are in need of renovating...old furniture from the 70's with stains...the rooms are clean but there is no way this hotel is anywhere near a 3 star in Spokane...Priceline shows this as a 3 star the same as the Doubletree dowtown and I think they rate it higher than the Holiday Inn Express...they need to adjust this rating...the room we were in was barely a 2 star...it was quiet...

It was the last night of our trip and we were ready to relax. Driving, looking for a hotel, we saw the Mirabeau Park. It looked expensive but I checked and found it to be the best value for lodging of our whole vacation. Very nice, clean, rooms and a wonderful bar and restaurant. the staff were al wonderful, easy-going, and friendly. Great place.

The Mirabeau Park Hotel has been under rennovation for the last 4 years according to a waitress in their restaurant - lounge Max. The rooms were dirty with dated decor and broken air conditioning in 2 of the 6 rooms that were occupied by our party. When you enter the lobby, you will quickly notice that the drop ceiling is missing more than a few panels that expose the very dirty duct work in the facility. So, you next thought would be to go out to dinner and escapt the horror for a bit. Well, that proved to be a challenge as well. There were choices of fast food and a few other chains. The service at Mirabeau Park Hotel was less than friendly, and if you would like a cup of coffee to go in the morning, be prepared to pay $3 each - an no it isn`t Starbucks.

The tiles in the bathtub area were literally black with mold.
I felt I had to hold my breath to keep from breathing in the spores.
When I complained and asked them to clean, they did come to clean again, but the black mold was still there and totally disgusting!
Could not get moved to another room, because they were booked.
This room was an extreme health hazzard and should NEVER have been booked out.
We have stayed in a lot of hotels and the Meribeau is a very average hotel - poor hotel. No fridge or microwaves in room. Extremely poor amenities for the price you pay.
We did appreciate however the shuttle service the hotel provided to a car rental company and nearby shopping. The Restaurant we found was excellent - Good food and decent value. They did have free internet in the lobby which we used. We have stayed at this hotel in the past and didn't have any trouble. However because of our recent experience, we will think twice before booking in this hotel again.

Room was very clean, comfy. Bed was more comfortable than mine at home. Nothing over the top fancy, but was very pleased. Would definately recommend to others.

We stumbled on this when we ran out of steam on our way to Seattle one night, & it was a terrific find. The other three hotels at that exit were chains, so we decided to try this one, & considered ourselves lucky. The rooms were spacious, clean & well-appointed. It's owned by a Canadian company, & this is the only one besides the original in Canada. The best thing was the restaurant: Max at Mirabeau. Huge menu of creative dishes, enthusiastic & well-trained wait staff, & a nice, sofa/bar area with half-priced appetizers that were delicious. We stopped there on our way back as well, & my only disappointment was they didn't seem to have many rooms with king beds; we called to see if we needed a reservation & they said they had plenty of space, but they didn't have any king rooms when we checked in around 6:00. It's a large, three story, rambling place, (possibly called a "Convention Center"?), & has most of the expected amenities (pool, exercise room, etc.). It's right off the Interstate, so there's no neighborhood or interesting things to walk to, but the outlet mall is nearby (& a Krispy Kreme!:) The restaurant alone is worth it: I'd eat there often if I lived there!
