Views, comfort, luxury - the pavilions are separate with gardens in between. Amazing views across the harbour, high-tech entertainment system, very fast and free wifi. Pure luxury. Dedicated car park for your pavilion. Try to avoid Monday night because the MONA restaurant is closed in the evening, but room service is good. Stay here and add to the MONA experience. Hobart is definitely on the map.

Room Tip: I don't think you can go wrong.

If you can stay at the MONA pavilions, don't pass up the chance. They are uber cool and very comfy. We stayed in "Walter" which is the one on the northern end. Therefore it was more secluded and it had also a landscaped area (like a back yard) between the back porch and the river. It also had two bedrooms, the top floor overlooking the river and a tv screen the comes down from the ceiling. All of the lights, screens, electronics are operated via a remote pad next to the beds and other living areas. The kitchen area was extremely nice and they stock it with complimentary teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and milk for your tea or coffee. There is also a nice assortment of fruit. The meals you can get delivered to the rooms are excellent, and the service is great. You can indulge in the wine and beer tasting which is from the brewers/vineyard on site, and the delicious breakfast is also included. Access to the museum is also included, even if you are there on Tuesday when it is closed to the public...you can get a private group tour in the afternoon. There is lots of nature all around, and having a James Turrell sculpture to see the sun set and rise is incredible. We so appreciate everyone at MONA and we loved our visit to their museum and pavilions.

Room Tip: Any room is good, the Walter is great if you want 2 bedrooms

We stayed in Robin for two nights and everything was faultless from arrival to departure.

Highlights included a fully supplied ultra-modern Pavilion brilliantly designed to make the most of the great views. The best "mini-bar" I have ever seen (a fully stocked wine fridge!). Lovely pool and gym sharing the same great view. The staff were always willing to assist and came by numerous times to deliver DVD's and pick us up or our luggage.

We enjoyed dinner at the Source, a ferry ride back from the Salamanca Markets, the tour of the Moorilla winery, multiple trips into the museum as well as being able to wander around the property after the crowds had gone.

Perhaps the most luxurious was that there is no talk of "that will be an extra $$$" which I hear at most hotels. Breakfast, fast wifi, museum entry and wine tour are all included. Small things like juices in the fridge and a bowl full of fruit are also lovely welcoming touches. The mini bar prices are the same as the cellar door and if you end up buying wine, they'll even waive the freight charges.

Would love to go back again.

We stayed in the Brett pavilion for my mother's birthday. Private luxury with a perfect view. It's a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with a spa bath overlooking the Derwent Estuary. Excellent coffee, excellent Moorilla wines and the Source breakfast is to die for. Attentive friendly staff made it a brilliant stay... I'd recommend including a Tuesday because the private tour for guests is just awesome.

On my my third visit to MONA and I decided to lash splurge and stay in the Pavilions.
I also took my son, as he hadn't been before.
We stayed in the Charles, which was perfect for three.
It was beautiful to wake up to the sun shinning on the Derwent.
The bath downstairs was lovely and I Ioved the Aesop products.
Dinner in the restaurant was enjoyable, but for my taste you can't go past lunch in the more casual Wine Bar.
I recommend a hire car, as it's a bit of a trip into the centre of Hobart.
We caught the ferry to MONA and then back into town in the afternoon, then hired a car and drove back. That way we had a car to drive to the airport the next day and we didn't miss out on the lovely ferry trip.
Next time I go I'll stay there again too.

I surprised my wife with a stay at MONA for our tenth wedding anniversary. This is the pinnacle of accommodation and location.

The service is exemplary and breakfast at The Source was memorable, for all of the right reasons. Stayed in the Edmond pavilion and all mod cons with exceptional bar fridge.

We did not visit the museum and art gallery on this occasion, as we live ten minutes from MONA and we visited two months ago with mainland visitors.

Everyone should stay here at least once in their life!

Room Tip: There is not a bad room available, and there should not be.

Just breathtaking. The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The museum presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art, it has been described the museum as a "subversive adult Disneyland." But there’s a lot more than just art, it also has fabulous restaurants, bars, outdoor events like food markets, open grassy areas to enjoy a glass of wine or beer whilst watching musicians on the outdoor stage. Nestled in acres of bush, greenery, grape vines and art deco stylishly designed pavilions this place has definitely the wow factor.

The accommodation pavilions, which essentially house up to 2 couples, are truly magical, with every mod con you would expect from a 5 Star hotel. The Pavilions are secreted amongst bush offering the guests privacy with stunning views of the Peninsula. Each Pavilion has a small kitchenette, large lounge area, state of the art media, remote controlled blinds, lighting and temperature control, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, plus did I mention the 15 Wine Bottle mini bar!!. Each pavilion has an out door deck facing the ocean with beautiful views. There is a recreation building that has a small gym, with a few cardio machines, a heated indoor lap pool, and a sauna. I’m raving about this place as it is truly unique and a definite place to come see and stay when in Tasmania. MONA has to be one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, and that is saying a lot!!
