“Fishing or Golf anyone?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

We were lucky to find this fabulous place. Di's attention to detail in every aspect including the bathroom amenities (equal to a 5 star hotel) to the kitchen full of yummy goodies that she makes herself. How nice is it to walk into a B&B style place and have the fridge stocked with food so you don't need to rush out and buy basics. We were in Tassie to fish for Bream and play Golf and both of these activities were so easily accessible. We played at Claremont which is 10 mins drive and we also played at Kingston Beach and Tasmania Golf Club. If you have a group of people in Hobart to play Golf, this is the place to stay. You can all stay upstairs and share golf experiences over a few drinks together in the lounge.
We fished the Derwent under the Bowen Bridge and the Tasman bridge and up to Bridgewater along the river. We parked the boat right outside our suite and Phil was fantastic in providing power for the electric motor to be charged and the ability to wash the boat right there. We really enjoyed Phil and Di's hospitality and their fabulous stories over a few drinks at night. They open their lives to travellers which makes for such a unique adventure. The two cats are so funny and love playing with guests. We couldn't imagine a better place to stay. Thanks Phil and Di.

Room Tip: For groups or families, upstairs is the best option. For a couple or for privacy, choose the downsta...

What a lovely place Glenlusk Gardens is!
The location is perfect - only 15 mins drive to Hobart CBD, few minutes drive to famous MONA. The welcome is very warm. Phil And Di are both charming and take their time in making you feel welcome, never forgetting a name ;) They have thought of all the small details for making their establishment comfortable and welcoming. Phil And Di make you feel so at home, and give great advise with regards to local places of interest and any information regarding restaurants and different activities in the area.
This little gem of B&B is lovely, very homely and cosy, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location is idyllic. Their gardens are stunning, the setting is superb, so close to the centre of Hobart and yet so peaceful.
Phil and Di are the perfect hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. We had a great relaxing week and would highly recommend a stay, short or long.
This was a great find!

Fantastic place to stay in Hobart, close to MONA, and thanks for Phil &Di’s help during our stay.
Our uncle was sick on 2nd night, but none of us can drive him to hospital, thank you so much Phil, drove us to the hospital. Thinking about if we don't stay in Glenlusk Gardens, I don't know what to do for our uncle. And Di’s homemade jam is the best, and also the brownie, very good!!! 2 cute cats, luxury rooms and facilities, great hosts, quiet location… everything just be perfect!

There are very few Bed & Breakfasts that can simultaneously make you feel comfortable within moments of walking in the door, provide all the comforts of home and all the luxuries of a five star hotel and as an added bonus have wonderful hosts who are relaxed and genuinely wanting to share their home in the true spirit of hospitality.

I stayed here in January with my parents, sister and brother-in-law together with my 1month old niece and one of my bridesmaids whilst we were in Hobart for my wedding. I had agonised over where to stay whilst in Hobart and had tried to select accommodation that would be large enough to accommodate all of us, have a relaxed feel, be baby friendly and most of all provide us with a home away from home given that we would be in Hobart for a very special family occasion. Glenlusk Gardens fulfilled all these requirements and our stay there was excellent.

When we arrived, there were home made baked treats awaiting us on the kitchen counter as well as upstairs with a note saying to make ourselves at home. Phil and Di had stocked the fridge with all the basics one could need to make a hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the rooms were spotless and the beds extremely comfortable. I slept like a baby the night before my wedding! The upstairs spa was also an absolute delight and made for a relaxing pre-wedding afternoon - it came complete with bath gel, foam and salts.

Di made us delicious pancakes on the morning of the wedding and both Phil and Di went out of their way to help the morning run smoothly. From opening their house to the hairdresser, make-up artist, photographer and videographer to taking care of my niece whilst we had the group photos taken as well as offering all of us drinks and helping us soak up the anticipation and excitement of the morning. The lounge was a great place to have the hair and make up done as the floor to ceiling windows allow plentiful natural light to flow through.

The day after the wedding we held a BBQ at Glenlusk Gardens for our family and friends. We used the atrium space as well as the outdoor BBQ area and had approximately 50 guests. All of our guests commented on how nice the house was, particularly the spaciousness of the atrium which is perfect for entertaining. It came as little surprise that some of our guests who live in Hobart had no idea that Glenlusk existed - it is truly a well kept secret! In the evening, my immediate family and my husbands parents sat down to look through photos taken on our camera from the wedding day on the widescreen TV in the lounge. Phil helped us set it all up so we could view the photos on the TV. It was very nice sharing that family moment with Phil and Di who had helped us so much with making the BBQ and pre-wedding preparation a success.

All in all we had a fantastic stay at Glenlusk and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hobart. It is far enough from Hobart to have a tranquil atmosphere but in a great location to experience the nearby Moorilla Estate and Museum of New and Old Art.

Room Tip: There is a self contained unit on the ground floor which is beautifully appointed, has a kitchenette...

Warm friendly, luxurious, comfortable and welcoming for children. Glenlusk was the perfect base to explore Hobart and the surrounding area with helpful tips from Phil and Di. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, perfectly clean with all the luxuries of a top hotel with beutiful views. The fridge was stocked with snacks and local produce and our hosts were genuinely welcoming. I highly recommend Glenlusk and look forward to returning again.

Thank you Phil & Di,

Glenlusk Gardens was ideal, you provided a home away from home. From the amazing gardens and views, jams chocolates and cheese's to your warm hospitality and luxurious accommodation. There really is no need to travel to far away from Glenlusk Gardens as MONA and the Cadbury factory is at a stones throw. We'll see you again soon Phil and Di.
We have already recommended Glenlusk to our friends and family and would highly recommend you book this lovely B&B.
