“Switch Off At Summergrove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

The most relaxing place EVER!

My wife and I have just returned from a week's holiday at Summergrove. It was truly great! If all you want is great views, solitude, kangaroos on your doorstep, a nice villa and friendly staff then this is your place. We received a breakfast hamper every second day that was full of goodies (coffee, fresh bread, jam & butter, juice, cereal, chockies etc etc). Donna even sent down a bottle of bubbles for us on New Years Eve. We lit up the log fire for ambience in the evenings (but used the a/c, opening doors windows when it got too hot) for a great cosy atmosphere.
Usually on holiday I have my iPod glued into my ear on the balcony or around the pool when I'm reading or relaxing mainly to help the chill out process (and to keep out noisy kids etc). However, at the end of the 7 days I realised that I had only listened to my music once (then just two tracks and out the earphones came) - never needed it.
We also found that the site was a great base to explore the coast and surrounding hinterland. We eat out a few days (nice restaurant on site Fri & Sat and plenty of places to eat dotted around the surrounding areas) the rest of the time we just got some stuff in and sat outside the bungalow admiring the surrounding countryside etc.
Will definitely return when our batteries need fully recharging.

Summergrove Estate was the perfect getaway! The service was friendly, the villas were beautiful, the food was amazing and not to mention the location...the views of the gully were picture perfect. I cannot fault this place as everything was perfect and exactly the type of getaway my partner and I needed. We stayed for 2 nights, the first night we had the inhouse dining (the food was amazing) and being able to sit in the comfort of your own villa while soaking in the breathtaking views was the perfect romantic setting. The next day was so relaxing, we had a game of tennis, a swim, then went driving around the golf course on a golf buggy. We then had dinner at the restaurant which was beautiful and food was amazing yet again! Overall, our experience was really relaxing and we had a great time. If you need some time out and are searching for that perfect getaway, this is definitely the place to be!

My husband and I have just returned home from "heaven on earth"! We were greeted with champagne, chocolates and a lovely warm welcome by our hostess and immediately felt like we had escaped the world.... even more so after we started the fire.. Not to mention cruising around on the golf buggy and exploring the property! The staff were exceptional, and the experience so lovely we have booked in our next stay already. Thank you Summergrove staff for making our stay one we will never forget!

My husband and I stayed at Summergrove Estate for a 'Finally four long years of Uni are over' weekend, and couldn't have chosen a more relaxing place to de-stress and simply enjoy one anothers company.

The villa itself was gorgeous, set in a private landscaped garden looking over a vineyard, with panoramic mountain and sea views. Inside, designer furnishings and a double sided sandstone fireplace in the center of the villa provided warmth and ambience to both the living room and bedroom. The huge bathroom had a corner spa with views over the mountains, which was simply lovely.

When we arrived, we were delighted to find our villa stocked with a delightful breakfast hamper, which included oven roasted macadamias as well as traditional breakfast foods. We chose the golf buggy and gourmet picnic hamper option, and spent the day exploring the grounds before finding a perfect spot to eat.

We were very happy with the restaurant, which provided a truly epicurean encounter- the food was amazing, and the views from the restaurant were second to none. Live music provided a great atmosphere, made the whole experience really special.

Overall, Summergrove Estate stands out from the crowd because it offers not only modern and luxurious facilities, breathtaking views, gourmet dining and pamper packages, but because it offers an element of fun- the freedom to explore the mountainside grounds on the golf buggy was the highlight of our stay.

Stayed just the one night unfortunately , should have stayed 2 nights ! Fabulous views and drinks in the bar overlooking the mountain so serene. Little inclusions on the room made it special , macadamia nuts and continental breakfast . Had friends in the villa for drinks and pizza , they had a great time . Will be back !

My partner and I have just had a terrific getaway at Summergrove Estate. Our Villa was modern and well furnished with plenty of room to relax. The day we arrived we were happy to sit and take in the magnificent views to the coast. That night we wandered down to the restaurant and sampled some cocktails before tea. My favorite was the one made with mangos from the Estate. Our meals also included some of the local produce. It does make a difference when they are complimented with ingredients that are so fresh. The atmosphere in the restaurant was enhanced with live music. Nothing too loud that we could not keep a conversation going.
We both would recommend Summergrove Estate if you are looking for a place to stay and relax.
Thanks to Donna and John for your hospitality.
We will definitely be returning for another break soon.

Room Tip: All the Villas looked nice with similar setup. Ours had great views and was far enough away from the...

We came here for a romantic dinner for two and were expecting a nice restaurant but it surpassed all expectations. The views at sunset to the ocean and city lights was beautiful, as was the atmosphere, with a fireplace and lounges for cocktails (or mocktails!), a beautiful timber bar and live music. The food was just heavenly, and everything was different - bruschetta suddenly wasn't just boring tomato bruschetta, the in-house bread and dip was like no bread we'd eaten out before, and all used local or estate grown produce. The mains were great portion sizes and just as divine, but what really grabbed us was the free mango gelato served as a palate cleanser after the entree - made from estate mangos, it was beautiful. To finish, the homemade lemon meringue pie was simply heavenly, and the size so big even the two if us struggled to get through it. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, and we gave the biggest tip we've ever given as a thank you, they simply couldn't have been better. Overall, it was a delightful night and exceptionally good value, and we couldn't recommend it enough. It is absolutely worth the drive there.
