“Cosy Accommodation with Great River Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

We spent a wonderful Anniversary weekend at the Waterfront Spa Cabin, right on the river’s edge. Was fantastic to go back to the park, we had an onsite caravan there for many years, so it was a real trip down memory lane. Being early May the park was quiet, cool nights but beautiful sunny days. The cabin was very clean & comfortable with fully equipped kitchen and luxurious spa. Fantastic location, easy walking distance to the beach. Most of the park amenities have been modernised and a big new playground for kids.
Went to the Gerroa Fisherman’s Club for dinner & had good meal, fantastic location right on the hill overlooking Seven Mile Beach. Gerringong village is only 10 minutes away and good to browse at the shops, plenty of cafes & couple of restaurants. Boat Harbour near Gerringong has a wonderful park and Ocean Baths worth a look, also checkout the Whale Watching platform near Gerringong Cemetery for fantastic views.
Thanks to Margaret for providing a bottle of wine, chocolate & coffee vouchers from the café, made us feel really special.

Room Tip: Take Walking Shoes - plenty of great walks, especially along the beach

I went here with my wife and 5 month old baby for a couple of night getaway at short notice. We stayed in a Driftwood Spa cabin that as far as we could tell was exactly the same as the waterfront cabins except it was a few meters further back than they were. We had the surfing camp area directly behind our cabin but they were well behave and there was very little noice from them.

The cabin itself was fantastic with a large deck with electric BBQ, work top, sink and 6 seat outdoor table. Inside was open plan living with a fantastic kitchen with full size fridge, dining table for 6, lounge and flat screen TV. The first bedroom had 2 bunk beds and we were able to squeeze in the port-a-cot for our baby. The bathroom was well equipped with a large shower with normal shower head at one side and a three massaging head shower at the other there was also a seperate toilet. The master bedroom was large with a built in wardrobe and a queen size bed. The main feature of the bedroom was the incredibly large two person spa bath.

The only thing I could think of that would make it beter is to have more seating, ie another lounge, as the cabin can accommodate 6 but only has a 2 seater lounge.

The staff were fantastic and made check in and check out a breeze. We did leave something behind in the cabin which we realised once we were back home, after a phone call they started looking for it. After efforts by them, the item wasn't located as it probably went with the laundry off site.

The location is fantastic with a 5-10 minute easy walk to Seven Mile Beach and a 20 minute drive to Nowra.

There is also a pool and a games room as well as an onsite cafe and shop, non of which we used.

Room Tip: Any of the cabins would be fine.

Thank you so much for your kind words, the Driftwood cabin is in fact the same style of cabin as the Waterfront except it sleeps six whereas the Waterfront sleeps 4. I have reviewed the seating arrangements for the cabins and we are looking at some new furniture that will have a an extra sofa. Thank you again and apologies for not replying earlier.

Gerroa is a great spot for a family holiday. A small town located right at one of NSW's best beaches, Seven Mile Beach. Gerroa itself only has a small general store plus a cafe, however bigger town Gerringong is just a few minutes drive north with plenty of shops and eateries. Discovery Holiday Park Gerroa is located backing onto the Crooked River, a short distance upstream from where it joins the northern end of Seven Mile Beach. The river water views are OK at high tide but the mud flats at low tide did not appeal to me. Beach is about 5 mins walk. I stayed in a driftwood spa cabin (6-berth). Slight hiccup at check-in, in that the cabin was not made up from the previous occupants when we got to the door with our stuff. Cabin itself was really good, high curved roof made it seem extra spacious. Huge double spa in main bedroom plus double shower in main bathroom were nice luxury touches. Fully equipped kitchen with decent size fridge, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and most basic utensils. Though probably time to update the TV to a flat screen instead of the old CRT style. Private BBQ on cabin deck also much appreciated. However these cabins are in a noisy corner of the park, close to a surprisingly busy road and also next to the onsite "surf camp" dormitories which were fully occupied during our stay. Park also has a swimming pool (part shadecloth covered), playground, and games room. Given this was mid-Jan and main summer school holidays, the rate was pretty good value for the accommodation standard.

Room Tip: There are two "driftwood spa cabins" - these are located in the noisiest part of the park...

We stayed in the 2 bedroom luxury cabins by the river. Being a tidal river - I enjoyed watching the ever changing scene. The cabin was clean and comfortable. My only gripe was the private BBQ plate was not cleaned and there wasn't enough cutlery and crockery. With four people and only 4 forks, plates, knives, spoons etc we were always washing up - not a holiday experience in my book. Overall a nice stay, but unlikely to return.

The spa and waterfront cabins were absolute lakefront, allowing us to supervise our young kids wandering the sand flats at low tide, while enjoying a sunset glass of wine from the cabin balcony. All amenities were provided, with the spa and shower being especially luxurious. The beachside location meant that the floors and furniture could not be kept very clean all the time. Some of the furnishings and fitting are appearing dated, but the cabins still rate highly.

I stayed in a deluxe waterfront cabin for 5 nights in November. Beautiful place to stay, so close to the beach and great service. The cabin generally clean, but only thing that could've been better was the floor was a bit dirty and could've done with a sweep & a mop. My booking (through Wotif.com) also included a free bottle of wine on arrival which was not provided.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here & would highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding our park and cabins. We do take pride in our park and the area in general and we are pleased to hear that our customer service is up to standard. The comments regarding the floor in the cabin is being investigated and we have implemented a system to ovecome missed tasks such as that. I must apologise for not providing you with your complimentary bottle of wine as per the Wotif deal. If you would like to call us on 02 4234 1233, we will be glad to post one to you.
