The Chapel is situated amongst a large new housing estate/village created some 15 years ago. The building is amazing but the food is less than average. If this is the food people living here want then thats ok but the majority of pubs/restaurants in Somerset rely on people travelling to their establishments.
The service was poor, we asked 3 times for menus and neither member of staff pointed out the specials board that was tucked on a side wall. We sat and watched a large party eat, they left and their plates remained on the table for another 40 minutes - not really a pleasant site for any new guests entering the pub.
Somerset has some great produce on offer and you don't have to do cheap and cheerful to attract repeat custom.
Have a go, do some good fresh nice food and attract people from outside Cotford and make a business out of the great opportunity you have there. Hospitality brings customers along with good food.
