“Tranquility and fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

This is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation for couples. Only Red Level guests are allowed in this part of the resort. You have access to a private lounge, pool, sunbeds, Bali beds and Red Level service. Only adults are allowed in this area. The service is impeccable. The staff is very helpful and discreet. They always tried to give little extra.

The breakfast is perfect. A better start of the day is hardly possible. You can eat in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere outside (or inside) in the Red Level lounge with great selection of food from the buffet or menu. I had Egg Benedict every day, and still miss them. Good selection of cold cuts, cheese and fruit. You have free coffee from the Nespresso machine and water bottles during the day. In the evening from 18:00-19:00 during sunset, they have a nice open bar and tapas for the Red Level guests. We also had dinner at the Red Level restaurant one night. It was expensive, but really good food and excellent service. We tried a few of the other restaurant in the resort which also offers nice food and ok prices. The lunch menu at the Red Level pool bar is too expensive – EURO 15 for a small ham and cheese sandwich with French fries. Recommend lunch in the village instead – see below.

The rooms are large and really nicely decorated. We had “garden view”. Not much of a view on the ground floor, but we had both a private whirlpool and a Bali Bed. Behind the garden is a banana plantation. Only traffic is to the Red Level area.

Pool area is really nice and very quiet. We rented Bali Beds the last days. Euro 20 for the day including a bottle of wine or cava is absolutely worth it. Outside the resort is a nice seaside walk on the cliffs. There is not a beach, but looks like they are constructing a small one.
Alcala is a small village close to the resort. A nice place to have lunch, and it is much cheaper than the resort. Can recommend Sauc, which is one the seaside next to the resort.

You can book rooms at the resort and save some money. However, our experience is that the extra money for the Red Level service and tranquility is worth every extra cent, especially if you are on a break without the kids.

Room Tip: We booked the garden view option. Not much of a view on the ground floor, but we had both a private...

Iif you stay within the compound this can be the perfect short break .. The staff are extremely helpful and the service is impeccable. I agree with the last two opinions. A Bali relaxing bed for 20 E with free wine/ cava is great value

Room Tip: Book a room in the red level area

I just came back from a 4 days Xmas break at RedLevel Palacio de Isora. If you're looking for a quiet and not-crowded hotel this is your place. It's very clean, plenty of sun beds and the service is good.
But there are a couple useful tips if you're thinking about booking this hotel:
1. Mayorodomo: you're assigned a personal butler when checking-in. He's supposed to be your contact person for anything you need. I saw him the first day and from that moment he was just another waiter so no personal service.
2. Food: I booked half-board which is a bit disappointing because it only includes dinner (no lunch) in the non-RedLevel restaurants, and not even in all of them nor the full menu. They find ways for you to pay a lot of money for your dinner because either the quiet area of the restaurant has a different menu, or the dishes included in your half-board are so few that you end up ordering something else, I paid 36EUR last night for one fish dish and a glass of wine. RedLevel has one restaurant that is closed Mon and Tue. It's nice and relaxing but it's the same place you have breakfast and lunch so... after a couple days it's a bit boring.
3. Beach: there is NO beach. RedLevel has a pool and sun bed areas with sea views, where no waiter is on sight.
4. Non RedLevel: horrible. Crowded and the place you don't want when booking RedLevel. Don't understand why no one tells you the gym, spa and restaurants are in that area.

Overall: perfect if you don't leave the RedLevel area, which is small so four days is more than enough. Very expensive drinks (8Eur for a juice) and restaurants.

Had I stayed in the main hotel, I would have been bitterly disappointed. On the few occasions we ventured out it was busy, loud and seemed hectic. Service in some of the restaurants was slow and impersonal, although both the Japanese and Italian restaurants were very good.

The Red Level suite was fabulous with plenty of space and a lovely jacuzzi on the balcony.

The pool was perfect for swimming and the jets and waterfalls that come on periodically are fun! Do reserve a Bali bed at 20 euros a day which includes sun cream and a bottle of wine.

Also got complimentary vouchers for the indoor spa which was a really relaxing afternoon with a huge range of both hot and cold water experiences.

Breakfast is a cold buffet with hot food served to your table, and the evening complimentary drinks and nibbles were of very high quality and almost enough for your evening meal if you'd had a big lunch!

We will definitely go again, but next time will not bother with half board as we did not always want an evening meal.

If you want a pampered week of relaxation, sun and swimming not too far from home, this place would be hard to beat.

I would only stay at Red Level rather than the "main hotel" which seemed busy and crowded. I'm surprised by some of the complaints regarding the service - we had a couple of minor issues which were quickly dealt with and in general service was very good. We travelled as a family (6 of us) including my elderly parents who have very specific dietary needs (vegetarian).
We were disappointed with the buffet offering for vegetarians and after speaking to Red Level guest relations they arranged for meals cooked specifically for us - we could choose anything we wanted and they would have the chef make it and would serve us at the table (this is beyond my expectation for a buffet restaurant) - the food that they made was of a high standard.

The Red-Level pool is good and has enough space although I would recommend getting a Bali bed (20eur per day). We only ventured to the main pool a couple of times - the main pool was ok but a bit too crowded.

on the 1st day we noticed our air conditioning was leaking and we were moved with no fuss, this seemed to be an issue with a couple of rooms and it would appear that it was on going although once we moved we did not experience the problem again.

I found the staff at Red Level breakfast to be attentive and they usually remembered any specific requirements for guests - they did struggle sometimes when things got busy but on the whole they were very good

Room Tip: Only stay at Red Level

My husband and I have just spent a week at the Red Level Gran Melia in Tenerife and it has been wonderful. The staff at th Red Level are all so friendly, attentive, helpful and any minor issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

The idea of having an adults only area as part of a larger complex works really well as you can either enjoy the peace and quiet of the red level area or you can move around the resort to mingle with more people.

Quite a few choices of restaurants. We found on the half board deal the Italian restaurant was the best food / service but there are other options that are excellent if you want to pay a supplement (the Japanese restaurant was excellent)

I had seen some poor reviews about the red level and I now wonder if they stayed at the same place! Happy hour with free drinks and nibbles from 6pm to 7pm every day is a great way to get the evening going. Breakfasts in your own red level area (no kids) was excellent

Can't (and don't need to) say anything negative about this hotel - we don't often return back to hotels but we will definitely be returning to this hotel (red level)

Room Tip: On the red level chose full sea view if you can or partial with view of the resort gardens. The room...

Stayed at Sensatori Egypt last Nov and loved it, loved the vibe. Luxury without being pretentious. We booked direct with hotel this time as the Thomson flights didnt suit us.
The hotel looks lovely and it is, Demi suite is quite small. Just a standard room size at any other hotel.
Management do seem to have a poor attitude. Waiting staff are all nice but the more senior team leaders and managers are all grumpy. I think a smile is out of the question. Really not the standard I am used to from '5 star' establishments. The senior staff all need to be shipped to a proper 5 star and see how the CUSTOMERS should be treated.
Terrace at red level is nice for breakfast although the digger noise is somewhat distracting due to them building a beach next to the red level area.
I am fed up hearing "that's not included". Honestly they have you paying for everything. The sports team even made a joke that we better watch we might get charged for the oxygen we are breathing. This was after discovering we were getting hit for 15 euro for tennis - not a problem but the inept receptionist doesn't inform us when we book so we look silly when we turn up expecting it to b included
Food OK, nothing to rave about though.
Not worth the money. Going to try sensatori Crete next as it seems to be more chilled and pleasant like Egypt.
Overall this hotel is far too uptight and the senior staff think it is far better than they are actually delivering

Room Tip: Sea view a must as the others look very dark
