“Charming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

We stayed at Beltane for two nights and wished we could have had another long afternoon sitting in their garden soaking in the Indian Summer weather. Beltane is a literally three minute drive to Wells and I'm glad we stayed here instead of in town.

We stayed in The Annex and found it to be very cozy. We enjoyed the living room area and small kitchen as we stored our food in the fridge after a shopping trip to a nearby Tescos (good inexpensive wine).

The bed was very comfortable and I loved the down comforter and soft pillows. The modern decor of The Annex is zen and relaxing.

We enjoyed a late afternoon in the garden visiting with the rabbit, chickens, kitty and their dog, Milo. Elaine brought candles out to us so we were able to enjoy a beautiful evening outdoors.

Elaine suggested we walk the public footpath to Wells and it was well worth it. We had a view of The Tor and enjoyed more of the countryside and sheep. I suggest trying to visit Wells on a Wednesday as Elaine suggested to you can visit on market day.

Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge is a short drive from Beltane so it makes for a great base to visit several areas. Elaine has many suggestions and brochures to browse through.

Thank you for a great stay!

Room Tip: The Annex faces the public road. The other annexes are away from the traffic.

We stayed for four nights at this great B&B,in the Annexe.Wish it had been longer as accommodation was superb as was the breakfast served by Elaine and Stephen. The homemade fruit cake went down a treat also.We thoroughly recommend Beltane to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Milo the dog is welcoming too.Hope to return in the future.

Stayed for 4 nights in the Loft Room. Very impressed the room was spotless and large with lovely shower room and lots of extra touches.
Breakfast was good and the tables were beautifully laid with white linen. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who gave a first class service.

We had a friendly welcome as we arrived and felt relaxed on our stay in Wells. Thebedroom was a generous size and we even had a separate lounge area with kitchenette area. All was clean and tastefully decorated, we would not hesitate to rebook if staying in the area again.
Cuddles sent to Milo the dog and thanks to the chickens for their tasty eggs.

Room Tip: Have a look at their website all look impressive

We cannot add to what previous reviewers have said, but just thought we would say that Beltane is still THE BEST B&B.

We stayed here one night in July 2011 to break up the journey from the SE to the SW.

I cannot think of anything positive to say that has not already been said, and although I haven't read all the reports on here, I cannot think that anybody can have a bad word to say about the Belatane or it's owners. If we're ever back in this part of the world again, this will be the place for us. Keep up the good work.
