“A wonderfully decorated quiet stay up in the mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

This Thai 'home away from home' has been conceived in an original style with an abundance of pleasant decorations, reflective of the owner's attention to detail. The resort is composed entirely of traditional Thai houses of dark wood built on stilts. You can walk underneath the stilts - only to find a hammock, a chessboard, or a couch. Great seating areas are provided for relaxing, with a central tv (though a good book is a much better match here).

You are immersed in nature with a fantastic view, however minus the inconveniences seen in similarly remote places. Guests are removed from the hustle and bustle of other run-of-the-mill commercial beehives along the rivers and even smaller rural roads for commercial elephant rides, country folk village visits etc.

Staff are highly motivated, attentive and very well trained - you get greeted with a welcome drink, your luggage is whisked away, and food ordered arrives promptly and in amazing quality. Speaking of which - everything we tried was delicious and as per the original taste (my wife is Thai). Breakfast is simple but tasty with either a Western (ham/eggs/sausage/fries) or Thai (Congee, recommended) style.

All key amenities you might desire are readily accessible - from roofed parking lots through fast wifi and a/c to water kettles with tea sets in the rooms.

The winding road to this small peace of heaven is neither short nor does it lend itself to high speed driving, so do allow for some time. The map online is somewhat vague - if you come to the only 7/11 store you went too far. A kilometer indicator / distance indication would be helpful. Not being able to read Thai script or going without a gps unit will also be a challenge - I will congratulate you if you make it to the hotel without detour while not having access to some kind of help.

If you are looking for an international moden resort with ample Western food, plenty of excitement or a 365 entertainment program all in English booked for you, you will likely not find this here or appreciate this place. If however you come with an open mind to discover traditional Thai ways of excellent service and hospitality, I could not recommend a better place.

Altogether this is the best and most original hotel I have stayed in over the past years, including top international brands. While this resort has existed for a few years, the owners have only recently opened it to the international public by rating it on tripadvisor. I suggest you opt for this unique blissful hotel soon before larger tourist groups discover it. I hope international travellers will value and respect unique Thai retreats such as this and embrace them with the respect they deserve, allowing them to maintain their unique style and appeal.

We went to this resort for lunch last week. It is located on one of the mountains outside Chiangmai, about 1.15hr away. The restaurant is open to public during day time and only open to resort guests in the evening. The restaurant has 2 levels and both offer a stunning view of the mountain and valley and more beautiful this time of year … and even better when the weather is nice and cool.

We ordered plenty of Thai dishes … the recommended "nam prik" set, Kang Som with prawns, Tom Sab, herbal omelet, stir fried 3 mushrooms and few more dishes … all were nicely presented, cooked well and tasty and to Thai taste. we also ordered salad with home made pumpkin salad dressing … very nice.

The staff were nice and polite … the food we ordered were relatively quick.

Overall , this place is recommended if you have time and want to venture outside the city.

Good food and beautiful view.

I think that it was originally started as a home stay-style place for friends. You can feel the intimacy in the layout. Luckily, the owner keeps the charm by a warm hospitality. The place is tucked away in the hill slope where you can enjoy the spectacular view and the fresh air. It is perfect for couples for creative persons who can spend quite times with good books, notebooks of ideas, and for persons who like Thai food! This resort's kitchen has to be one of the best in the area. The dishes are not showy and are cooked with very very good and fresh ingredients. Chemical-free. Also try the home-made pumpkin salad dressing, the famous chicken wings. The room is on a small side, and with no television for a good reason. Organic amenities are great. You will enjoy the warm morning sun here, quietly... It is not a grand hotel but you will feel like home. The resort staff are attentive and very polite. A place for a revisit.

Room Tip: Even though all the units enjoy the good view, please ask for a Mon-Dao cottage. It has the best.

This is a small resort with around 7 villas only. The resort is sitting on the hill-top, with fantastic scenic of veggy farm and mountain. There are cute decorations all around. The weather is cool all year (they said, highest temp is 28C). The room is clean, nice, with the tatch roof..

Some cons for this property is... they didn't install TV in your room! gotcha.. i knew someone will love this, but if they have TV I will definitely go back (I have small kids..LOL).

At night, it can be very (too) quiet. You can hear the sound of the wind, which if you never stay in this kind of place before may make you scare (like my mom, but not me)

The dinner was great. Best of the best is the air around, make your head light and fill with energy.

Overall, I like this place, especially if I can have the TV, I will definitely loveeee it!!!.

Room Tip: Choose one in the middle, near lobby. Coz no need to walk to far to come to the center (since there...

This property is located high up on top of a mountain, hence the advantage is the coolness! The main dinning area is just a small balcony with a nice view of overly cultivated mountains! But the food here is good! We stayed in one of the cottage for a night....the room was nice with Air Condition which we did not need since the temperature was around 24 C. There is no TV, nor a Fridge, so you must bring your own entertainment! Anyway, the view made up for it.... we would revisit when we have a chance just to get away from the heat of Bangkok!
