This Thai 'home away from home' has been conceived in an original style with an abundance of pleasant decorations, reflective of the owner's attention to detail. The resort is composed entirely of traditional Thai houses of dark wood built on stilts. You can walk underneath the stilts - only to find a hammock, a chessboard, or a couch. Great seating areas are provided for relaxing, with a central tv (though a good book is a much better match here).
You are immersed in nature with a fantastic view, however minus the inconveniences seen in similarly remote places. Guests are removed from the hustle and bustle of other run-of-the-mill commercial beehives along the rivers and even smaller rural roads for commercial elephant rides, country folk village visits etc.
Staff are highly motivated, attentive and very well trained - you get greeted with a welcome drink, your luggage is whisked away, and food ordered arrives promptly and in amazing quality. Speaking of which - everything we tried was delicious and as per the original taste (my wife is Thai). Breakfast is simple but tasty with either a Western (ham/eggs/sausage/fries) or Thai (Congee, recommended) style.
All key amenities you might desire are readily accessible - from roofed parking lots through fast wifi and a/c to water kettles with tea sets in the rooms.
The winding road to this small peace of heaven is neither short nor does it lend itself to high speed driving, so do allow for some time. The map online is somewhat vague - if you come to the only 7/11 store you went too far. A kilometer indicator / distance indication would be helpful. Not being able to read Thai script or going without a gps unit will also be a challenge - I will congratulate you if you make it to the hotel without detour while not having access to some kind of help.
If you are looking for an international moden resort with ample Western food, plenty of excitement or a 365 entertainment program all in English booked for you, you will likely not find this here or appreciate this place. If however you come with an open mind to discover traditional Thai ways of excellent service and hospitality, I could not recommend a better place.
Altogether this is the best and most original hotel I have stayed in over the past years, including top international brands. While this resort has existed for a few years, the owners have only recently opened it to the international public by rating it on tripadvisor. I suggest you opt for this unique blissful hotel soon before larger tourist groups discover it. I hope international travellers will value and respect unique Thai retreats such as this and embrace them with the respect they deserve, allowing them to maintain their unique style and appeal.
