“Not recommended.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

This is an experience I would rather forgot. It started off well with the rafting and great guides we had then but just went down hill. We saw too many elephants distressed and on very short chains or basically 'parked' in garages. The mahout didn't speak to us throughout the ride and I don't know much about training elephants but it looked like excessive force used on some of these poor creatures. The ox ride was just as bad. Just a sad day out and trying to get money from you at every step (ie. feed the elephant your riding bananas at multiple points or have them be hit by the mahout when you deny them trying to get them) - do your research and look for one of the elephant farms where they are allowed some freedom.

“great place for elephant hugs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Elephants appear healthy and well cared for. You can feed them and they will hug you with their trunks, which is great fun. Some of the circus type tricks made me wonder how they were trained. The rides didn't look that great, but we did not do one. Beautiful location and not too far from Chiang Mai. Good to combine with other things in the area.

“Wonderful time!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Loved it all! Bring wipes with you for wiping your hand after feeding the elephants - very fun to do. They won't eat peanuts but food there is reasonably priced so just buy there.

“Amazing, Brilliant, Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

The ride on the elephant was great, but the show afterwards was something else.

Unbelievable - watching the elephants enjoy entertaining people so much was amazing.

Watching the elephants paint such incredible works of art almost brought tears of joy to my eyes.

Fantastic - worth every penny. A must do for anyone going to Chiang Mai.
