Having previously had a fabulous night away at Cadbury house as part of their Valentines package, when we were looking for a night away for some much needed rest and relaxation Cadbury house was our first choice, BUT never ever again!
We checked in and the reception staff were warm and welcoming, we went up to our room on the 4th floor and were a little disappointed, the room was clean and tidy, but the decor is tired and in our opinion in need of a refresh, there was mould growing behind the bath tap, scratches, holes and paint missing on several walls and the air conditioning/ heating system made some interesting noises! However, we were only there for one night and decided to make the best of it. We booked a table at the Marco Pierre White restaurant and the food, whilst "nice" was nothing spectacular and not worth the hefty price tag. Again we decided to chalk it up to experience and retired to our room... BIG mistake.
There was a wedding party in the hotel and we have nothing against them, but the noise from the guests outside and the music was unacceptable, bear in mind we were on the 4th floor at least 3 floors above the disco we could hear every word and feel the bass vibrating through the floor. My husband called down to reception at 10.15pm and again at 10.45pm to ask if there was any way the music and noise could be quietened as we were paying guests too and deserved at least a good nights sleep. At 11.15pm he gave in and went down to reception and got us another room on the 5th floor, which was better as far as noises from the guests was concerned, but we could STILL hear the music!
Needless to say after a sleepless night and a barely mediocre breakfast we could not wait to check out and get home for some rest!
As i said before nothing against the wedding party, but we do feel the Hotel should better manage the accommodation of other paying guests, if we had been advised that there was a wedding going on and offered a room on the rear of the hotel then it would have been fine, we would gladly have given up the view for a good nights sleep!
Must just say the duty manager took the price of the room off our bill, but we still ended up paying £120 for food that we would best describe as "nice"
As my Husband said, we could have saved the money, got a takeaway and paid the kids to play their music really loud at home to get the same experience!

I am so sorry to read your review in particular following as you say that you had such a wonderful stay on your last visit to us and as you will read from the many reviews currently this would appear to be totally opposite the normally high level of positive comments we receive
Please accept my most genuine apologies and each of your points will be investigated fully and actioned accordingly to prevent such a recurrence of this nature
