Beautiful cosy and warm just like athome Hotel in a very peaceful environment I recommend it to families, couples and groups interested in extreme sports such as rafting mountain biking etc. As soon as you walk in the staff and owner help you to your every desire and are indeed very friendly. It takes not long before they walk up for a friendly chat.

I spent a week touring the Peloponese and this was to be our first night out of Athens. We chose it for its location, and easy drive from the airport, and the beautiful photos on the website. The inn was more beautiful in person than I could have imagined. Each of our rooms lovingly furnished and decorated with antiques and folk crafts, but without lacking any creature comforts (a brand new, modern bathroom, in room fridge). And great beds (I've reached an age where bed comfort is REALLY important).
In the morning we woke and packed our beds, heading down for breakfast and to continue our journey, but when the 5 of us met for the breakfast, the views captured us and we were stuck. Instead of moving on we dawdled over our breakfast of homemade breads, rich & thick Greek yogurt topped with local honey, and cheeses and then set out on foot to explore the village visiting the folk museum and the church.
In the afternoon we set out by car and visited some neighboring villages, stopping at the closest one for dinner before returning to Piana, where we settled in around the fireplace, relaxing with a delectable local cinnamon liquor. It was really hard to leave this heavenly place in the morning.

Room Tip: Get a room with mountain views, you'll have breathtaking views morning and night.

Guesthouse Papanikola is an amazing place!! Located at the village of Piana has amazing views of the mountains of Peloponnese. Really driving through all the mountain village,s Piana and guesthouse Papanikola have by far the greatest and breathtaking views of the forests and the mountain range. From the moment you step in the guesthouse you are amazed from the exceptional folk art decoration the homey feeling of the place and the welcoming and passionate on its job staff. A spacious living room with a big fireplace, lovely carpets and a incredible wooden colourful ceiling. Each room has its unique decoration and style, with lovely Greek traditional beds. The rooms on the top floor on the facade have breathtaking views. Breakfast was rich with local products, forest fir honey, Greek pancakes, local cheeses and village bread. A place to relax, that combines the beauty of nature, the richness of tradition and the hospitality of its owners and staff. I hardly can imagine anyone that couldn't be impressed from this place. Photos doesn't make justice. Piana village is beautifull but rather than the Papanikola guesthouse, a very beautiful church that it is lit up at night and the small museum doesn't have yet a cafe or a restaurant but not more than 10 minutes drive you can find all these. You cant find such a beautiful guesthouse and these views. Best accommodation for me of central Peloponnese. A big bravo to the owners that have inspired such a homey and beautiful place. I will certainly return.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms on the top floor looking over the garden and the mountains range.

Papanikola Hotel. To reach it from the nearest town, Tripoli, is a wonder of discovery -- of
landscape, of wilderness, of extreme refinement for there is no jarring note in the country
around the hotel Papanikola. If you approach at night, the mountains and woods are no doubt a protective haven for a variety of animals who apparently live in harmony. Perhaps there are no predators. Winding up to the village we chanced on a porcupine, unafraid; two small foxes,
and other animals in the wild. This is a tribute to the respect and discretion the Greeks hold for their woods and ridges. But as you come around a turn, suddenly the village of Piana's orthodox church appears, all white, almost translucent. Lights are beamed onto the white walls. The sight is quite magical.

Piana is discreet. In the day in summer villagers greet one another, have meals in the cafes , the children play but nothing is loud, no sharp sounds. You enter the hotel Papanikola. It is designed and built by architect Gina Papanikola, one member of this large family. She has chosen contemporary and recycled materials like ancient tiles in traditional Greek patterns. You are ushered into large rooms with couches and easy chairs, cushions, locally woven carpets, a large tv screen (rarely on) given the charm of hotel and countryside. You are captivated. From the rooms with upholstered furniture you inevitably are drawn to the
long terrace and the views. This is where an extended breakfast is served with the best of
every variety of grains, fruit, brews, cold cuts, eggs, jams and more. The kitchen is spotless and the equipment -- dishes, glasses, pots and pans -- is stacked with geometric precision.

My room had the view, with balcony. Spotless, as everywhere here. Great substantial bed and bedding so fine I am tempted to indulge in expensive linens when I return home. I noticed an alarm bell at the shower. More than ample closets, the touch of a woman architect.

There are rooms downstairs for games, more tv, and to perform one's exercises. This is a quiet, beautiful haven that has class enhanced by a thorough, gentle welcome.

In short, top quality, very high standards reign here.

Room Tip: Above my floor appear to be designed for larger families. Whichever direction a room faces, there i...

This hotel, guest house I should say, js a unique experience. The decor is charming and perfect to the last detail. The rooms are very generous size and all the comforts are excellent.. It is very quiet, and has a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. The staff is extremely pleasant and really make you feel welcome. It has only 10 rooms and you feel that you are part of their family. The breakfast is very good. It is only a few steps away from the village square where the only tavern/restaurant/cafe will also serve you with a smile and with typical Arcadian hospitality. A great place for a quiet weekend or a longer stay to explore the multitude of historically significant monuments of this area of the Arcadian mountains which was the heart of the Greek Independence revolution. Piana was the headquarters of General Theodoros Kolokotronis during the revolution and his home, Limbovisi, is only 9 kilometers from Piana in the dense forest of mount Menalon.

This hotel is a real gem. On two separate trips we have experienced a genuine welcome, charming hospitality and discreet service. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing, decorated in a blend of contemporary and traditional with spacious luxurious bathrooms. We felt really at home here, whether curled up on the sofas with a book, gazing at the distant mountains from the balcony, listening to the nightingales, eating the delicious breakfasts of local produce or walking out from the village. You do need a car to get here but once here it's a wrench to leave.
