The fact that we have been returning to Dalegarth and Heron Ghyll for 23 years speaks for itself.
We love the walks, the countryside, the small towns and villages, the markets. Above all we love the excellent accommodation. The decoration is always flawless, the cottages are well equipped and spotlessly clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and guarantee a good night's sleep.
David and Susan Lusted are always there with a warm welcome and go to great lengths to ensure that visitors have a holiday to remember.

A superbly appointed, comfortable cottage in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Many lovely walks from the village which is well-endowed with two excellent restaurants and a good pub!
The facilities at the cottage for the disabled were excellent
Our family of 4 stayed at Swallow Ghyll. The cottage is on two floors, one bedroom being downstairs, ideal for someone with limited mobility, with an ensuite bathroom/wetroom kitted out for the disabled traveller. The bedroom upstairs also has its own ensuite. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very, very well equipped. It is close to the Buck Inn (100 yards) where the food is good and reasonably priced and close to the Shop and Tea Room. There are lovely views from the cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone to stay at any of the cottages at Dalegarth. You will receive a very warm welcome.
This was our third and not last visit to Dalegarth. We stayed in the Ghyll cottage which had the most beautiful views of the Dales. On our arrival there was a fresh pint of milk awaiting us and plenty of tea, coffee and sugar to start us off. We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms both with showers , which is very convenient, when two ladies are getting ready. There is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for all our cloths. the towels and bed linen are of a very good quality and the beds are very comfortable. In the lounge there was a good size T.V.
with a D.V.D. Video player and Sky TV. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. The whole house was spotlessly clean.
We were able to visit many of the attractions with easy due to the location e.g. The Lake District, Beatrix Potters House, Castle Howard, The Beamish Museum, and much more.
Can't wait to return.
My wife and I had a perfect fortnight at Heron Ghyll. It was well equipped, meticulously clean and well adapted to our needs (I am disabled and the functionality of the bathroom turned out to be very good). What surpassed our expectations by far was the hospitality and pleasant care of our hosts: Mr and Mrs Lusted
