“Culinary delight”

Toro is one of those places that you keep coming back to simply because the food is excellent, consistent, and satisfying. The staff is very accommodating and are extremely knowledgeable on the food, the ingredients, and can easily explain each dish and recommend you their bestsellers. I always go back for the Volcano Maki and the East Meets West Salad, its a must try! The ambience of the restaurant is very classy but also very cozy, and they have a fully stocked bar that just about serves everything from sangrias to desserts shots (butterfinger is my favorite!) All in all I would definitely recommend Toro, its quality food with generous portions and a very attentive staff. What more do you need?

“Amazing Fusion Japanese”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Great neighborhood restaurant with fusion Japanse/Mexican food. An interesting take on both cuisines as it combines flavor combinations that excite the palette. Clean and bold flavors from the japanese married with the zing and spiciness of the Mexican just allows you to have a party in your mouth. Must try dishes are the volcano roll, the pan roasted french duck and the norichos. Who knew you could have ahi tuna on nachos with jalapenos and green chilli.

“Must try list...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Ok, here are my suggestions:

Stuffed finger chillies
Agedashi tofu (be sure to ask for extra sauce they are not very generous with sauces)
Taco two ways (same situation with the sauce, ask for more sauce on the side) and eat these quick, they get soggy fast.
The seabass was also awesome but they run out of stock - so order in advance.

I'm not a fan of the salads...they are bit too creamy for my liking.

Oh and the sake dispenser is dangerous, we got drunk playing around with it.

“Unique & enjoyable concept”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

A very unique and enjoyable experience of food and atmosphere! The cuisine combines the flavours of homey mexican food with the fresh flavours of Japan. A great place to eat and drink with friends - i thoroughly suggest the 'Norichos' - honey glazed ahi tuna topped with a green chili and a sweet spicy yellow sauce on top of a crunchy nori nacho - out of this world! Definitely a must visit restaurant.

“Will keep coming back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

A nice cozy neighborhood restaurant. Staff are really friendly and really go out of their way to know who you are and get you exactly what you need. They really know their stuff about the restaurant. Food is pretty amazing, it's really comfort food, great dishes with explosive flavors. A bit on the spicy side. Things i'd recommend : Volcano Maki, Spicy Finger Chilli, Pan Roast french duck. My only comment, the valet took a few minutes to get to us so I recommend giving your stub for picking up your car in advanced
