After watching a late afternoon movie my wife and decided spur of the moment to have dinner at Mamou's new branch at the PowerPlant Mall.
We had contrasting appetites that evening: she was still full from a late and satisfying lunch while was quite hungry having had only a small salad for lunch. And so I ordered an 8oz prime rib with baked mashed potato and creamed spinach on the side while she asked for a large salad.
Our orders came well within the time anyone, consciously or sub-consciously, allots for it. I enjoyed every last morsel of my meal made all the more so by a nice glass of Cabernet. My wife also enjoyed her salad commenting that the dressing was "just right."
To simply say that Mamou serves comfort food isn't really doing justice to the expert culinary skills required to produce such high quality consistently. But I do take "comfort" in knowing that there's always one restaurant I can rely on for good food and excellent friendly service all the time.
