I can't find words enough to praise the authenticity of this B+B and the sincerity with which Susi and Pino welcomed me into their home. I'd previoulsy had some rather unfortunate experiences with B+Bs in Italy, and so was unsure about booking a B+B for a whole week, in case it iturned out to be unsuited to my needs for rest and quiet. But withint minutes of arriving, I knew I'd hit the jackpot. The house is located in a hilly spot between the fortified villages of Sermoneta and Bassiano, literally within walking distance of the magnificient Cistercian monastic complex of the Abbey of Valvisciolo. Susi is an incredible cook and prepares the most amazing, traditional dishes with the fruit and veg that Pino tends lovingly in his cottage garden. No pizza and spag bol here, it all conforms to the Slow Food tradition. Breakfast is a veritable feast for the eyes and taste buds, lots of home made jams and pastries, all cooked in the outdoor wood oven. Susi loves it when you take an interest in her recipes, too, and shares them freely. So, you might even get some Italian cooking lessons.
