“Our first visit to Forda”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

This was our first stay at Forda and what a wonderful find. The lodge was spotless and was very well equipped with everything you could need.
The pool complex was very well maintained. On a wet morning we were the only people using the facilities which was amazing during school holidays. We also made use of the games room and tennis court.
We booked a fishing lesson with Colin and thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of fishing. Colin is very knowledgeable and good company.
Even though the weather could have been better, we found so much to do. We hired bikes on the Tarka trail, walked parts of the coastal path & explored Tintagel and Hartland Quay.
We definitely plan to return at some point in the future.

We have just returned from a week at Forda. 3 Adults and our grandson in one of the A Frame lodges. The lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The addition of a swimming pool & games room since we were there many years ago meant that although the weather was a bit damp & overcast there was always something to do before or after returning from trips out. The fishing was great and with lots of small fish to be caught in 2 of the lakes our grandson is now hooked on fishing.
The larger carp in the top lake proved too elusive for me but the roach & rudd were of exceptional size & in very good condition.
We have already reserved our lodge for the same time next year.

Our 23rd visit to Forda, staying in an A framed lodge for two weeks. We know when we arrive that the lodge is beautifully clean, lots of little extras like milk, tea and coffee are very welcome after a journey of over 300 miles. Very quiet and peaceful, extra lake for fishing this year. Always pleased to see Jim and Gillian who go out of their way to make our long awaited holiday comfortable and relaxing. Facials and massages always an extra treat, excellent swimming pool, beautiful walks and everything you need for a stress free holiday. Already booked for next year - counting down the weeks already!

Our first time at Forda, holidaying with another family and we booked 2 lodges next to each other. The site facilities definitely lived up to expectations - the swimming pool, games room and tennis courts were well used by the children (ranging from 3 to 16) every day. Onsite massges were amazing - book in advance to ensure availability ! - and Colin the fishing coach gave the teenagers a great few hours instruction, and they returned proudly with their photos of fish caught! Accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed - only minor improvement would be to have darker curtains in the bedrooms, and ones that fit the A-shaped windows - our kids woke very early because it was so light. But overall a really great week's holiday, with friendly welcoming people everywhere - on site and in the village :-)

Our 4th year staying in the Stables, accommodation with disabled facilities. Wonderful large bungalow, beautifully clean and very well equipped. Disabled facilities of high standard, lovely accessible shower room and additional able-bodied bathroom making life easier for all of us. Management most accommodating, facilitated arrival of wheelchairs, carers and this year a Tesco delivery van! Their caring approach, orgainisation skills and attention to detail made our stay very pleasant. Location is spectacular and so near to Bude and Widemouth Bay.

Had a great stay in Forda. Our house was fully equipped and spotlessly clean - a real home away from home. Super base for exploring Corwnall and Devon. Our two boys (13 and 11) even learnt how to fish with friendly, knowledgable advice from Colin from Forda. Owners and staff very friendly. Thanks to the pool and play room, not even the horrendous weather could stop us enjoying our time in Forda.
