“BEST SUNDAY LUNCH”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Do you like perfectly cooked food, great portions, friendly staff and the finest 'Bread and Butter Pudding' in Suffolk? Add that t a roaring log fire, great ale and care at really affordable prices for those of us on a modest income and The Griffin hits every target you could possibly ask for. My 'Sunday Roast' will be a talking point for the next month, it simply stands head and shoiulders above the alternatives....ENJOY

Me and my other half often go to the Griffin for a drink as we love the atmosphere and love place in general. John and Kate, the owners, are lovely, very welcoming and we found ourselves talking to them for hours. The restaurant towards the left hand side of the pub is very nice, with it's old wooden beams and original features the place has obviously got a lot of history and it gives the place character. We had lasagne (the best i've had in a long time) and a burger. We love homemade/pub food so we were very impressed with the food. This pub allows dogs into the facilities and the prices are incredibly fair. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We were looking for a good local pub to spend a couple of hours in the evening. We'd rejected a couple of others but when we walked into this one we felt genuinely welcome. There was a charity quiz on which we took part in and there was plenty of banter with the other teams. The drinks were very reasonably priced and although they didn't do food, the chips they produced were delicious. A delightful evening rounded off with winning the quiz. Many thanks to everyone at The Griffin - a lovely local pub.

Just had the best fish pie ever - and I`ve eaten a few! Husband`s chicken curry was also really good - and he`s very fussy!
We love The Griffin - always a friendly welcome and a lovely place to spend a relaxing evening.

Friendly pub serving a good range of beers and simple home cooked food at a price that is fair. A place for everyday fun and relaxing. I mostly just pop in for a drink and like the new management. Easy going and close to the A12 it's a family pub just right for fish and chips and a pint of Guinness
Will go again soon.

My husband & i went 4 a meal the food was really lovely, i had steak & ale pie my husband had local ham he said it was the best ham he had ever had. The staff are friendly, with a very warm welcome. It,s in a small but pretty village location just off the A12 between Lowestoft & Ipswich.

We spent a lovely afternoon at the Griffin. The landlord was friendly and welcoming and we felt like part of the family. We enjoyed ourselves so much we took our daughters there for a meal in the evening. The meal was good, fresh pub grub - the omelette was fantastic. There was folk music in the bar that night and we had a really fun few hours singing along to songs we didn't know. The Griffin is a historic building with really friendly owners who can't do enough for you. It's a good, honest, welcoming village pub.
