But many points to be raised.

Firstly we booked the standard (St. Andrew's no 42) accom. for 7 nights from 6th May onwards.

Arrived at the park at 17.30 to be greeted by a superbly professional receptionist.

Got to the caravan, sure it was a bit dirty and all the cutlery needed to be washed, but it was certainly satisfactory and given the circumstances, lack of equipment and time the cleaners certainly have a difficult enough job without being slated on here. (Unless necessary ;-) )

Bed unfit for purpose, too small, springs digging in back, hired linen itchy and didn't fit and was generally uncomfortable.

The window in the bedroom was covered (use the term loosely) by two curtains that might as well not have been there - their usefulness could be compared with that of a chocolate BBQ. Let in light from first thing in the morning - also, the caravan was allocated with the bedroom window right in the path of a bright white streetlight! Annoying or what? Definitely.

The next point which was totally unsatisfactory was the lack of draught excluder from the front door - it was bloody freezing; even in standard accom. is it too much to ask for a curtain over the door? I think not; not when you consider the money these folks are making.

Entertainment totally poor. Facilities, poor (at best) Amusement arcade satisfactory but prize tokens can be exchanged for goodies from the cheapest nastiest looking £ shop in town. Not good, but kids did seem to enjoy it. Swimming pool filthy.

Didn't seem to be much in the way for little kids so I could see boredom setting in but for couples it was absolutely ideal; peacefully set with buses in to Musselburgh and the city every few minutes. A very good location, if you're going in to Edinburgh or North Berwick/Berwick indeed. We went to all of the above and had an Excellent time in them all for different reasons respectively.

Travelling around the park lots of the accom. is absolutely splendid, give it a try when it's cheap for a week and go in with mid-low expectations and you will not be disappointed - go in and expect the Ritz and you might just be.

Spar shop on site unfit for purpose, too expensive, rude staff and poorly presented lack of stock. Just go to Tesco/Haldanes/Aldi/Lidl/Co-op all within 5 miles.

All in all a very good stay with some not so good points, some very damn good points and other terrible points but please do go there and see it for yourself. Take your own linen, enjoy the peace and location and go to the sea without the sounds of the arcades ruining it.

My honest opinions above.

Room Tip: Take your own bed linen

just got home after staying at seton sands haven caravan park. On arrival i had to scrub the kitchen area and disinfect it and also sterilize the two cups we would be using as i certainly would not have used the dishes or cutlery or pots in the cupboards as they were all filthy!!!!!! we had to sleep in the caravan for 2 nights as we were visiting nearby friends in noth berwick who do not have room for us.But i can assure you the less time spent here is better.Thank goodness i took my own pillows duvet and covers,i also bought a mattress cover. This place should be inspected by health and safety.AS i said , i had to sleep there but i was out as early in the morning and back as late at night as i could, and i certainly would never have used any of the dishes or cutlery. ugghhh itchy just thinking about it. NEVER AGAIN.tHE ONLY GOO THING ABOUT OUR STAY WAS THE LOCATION AT THE SEA....AND THE ROAD OUT OF IT

My family and I stayed here for a week in April of this year and really enjoyed it. If this site is good for you will depend on what your looking for, if you tend to spend your time on site and want a load of activities then you are probably best off looking to one of the bigger Haven sites as there is not a great deal going on and the show bar is on the small side. If like us you just use the site as a base then you'd be hard pushed to find anywhere better

The location is lovely, the scenery stunning and there is a wealth of places to appeal to all ages and tastes in the area. The van we had was huge, clean and heated throughout (which came in handy at that time of year)

Back yesterday after a fantastic weekend at Seton Sands. Travelled with my husband my 18mth old son and my parents. We had booked this through a "Sun Special" and upgraded to a deluxe van but I'm sure we actually had a prestige it was so clean and luxurious. It had heating in the bedrooms and bathroom and was very very spacious for the 5 of us. Seton Sands itself was lovely although not loads to do with very young children. We had dry and sunny weather all weekend and had a couple of walks across the road on the beach which was nice. The swimming pool area was clean enough my wee boy loved it! Night entertainment wase enjoyable the sort of stuff you expect at these places - Mikey one of the funstars was great with the kids. There is a spar and a chippy on site which are both very reasonably priced - the chips are gorgeous. We paid a total of £155 for the 5 of us including the upgrade and it was well worth the money. I don't think I would pay the rates they normally charge as not much for my wee boy bit would be happy to if he was older. Go ahead and book the site and Port Seton are lovely.

I travelled with another adult, a 3 year old and a 10 week old. First impressions were good, security lady on the gate was very helpful. We had arrived early, so at the reception area was given a car with a number on it and told to go to the bar area at 4pm. When I got to the bar area, it was a little disorganised. I was number 22, and 1-15 were asked to queue up near the stage area to get their keys. The staff had hardly seen any of those people, when another of the staff shouted on 15-30 to come up and it was chaos! (mostly elderly people not waiting their turn to be honest)
We had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom caravan, which was great. It was well presented, my only complaints about it were that the dishes and cutlery could have done with a wash and the table in the dining area needed a clean.
As other people have said, the Spar shop on site was expensive, but the chip shop was very good, with very friendly staff.
We had a car so we did travel about quite a bit. The best thing we did was park at Prestonpans Station and get the train to Edinburgh (just over £8). There was also always a bus sitting at the park gates, so I am sure travelling to the nearby towns/villages would be easy enough.
We went to the entertainment at night, but didn't experience it all as our 3 year old needed to be in her bed, but she enjoyed the 'disco' and seeing Rory the Tiger, Anxious the Elephant and the bear, whose name escapes me!! We didn't go to the swimming pool, but the play park was quite good.
We had to call out the maintenance man one night as I fused all the lights in the bedrooms, and the guy arrived within 30 minutes and fixed the problem.
So, all in all, a relaxing holiday to be honest. We did have a good time, but am unsure whether we would go back again. Haggerston next time I think!

I am a support worker for a charity. Myself and another staff member took two of our service users with learning and physical disabilities to the park for a long weekend.

Let's just say, we weren't impressed.

Both of our 'prestige' caravans were dirty. Small hairs on the duvet covers, dirty couches, dirty carpets. But the worst one was the disabled caravan. The bathroom was so gross I took photos. Caked in dirt on the shower floor, some sort of goo on the bathroom sink counter, pink mould on the shower wall. There was also a clear plastic disposable razor cover on the sink so obviously it hadn't been cleaned. Thankfully we brough out own cleaner so tried our best to clean what we could. I wish i would have brough slippers because of the dingy carpets. Wore socks the whole time. There were dirty shoe marks tracked through the kitchen area. When I told the reception area all I got was a ''Sorry. I'll let someone know.''

We made the best of this trip by going to Edinburgh Saturday and Sunday. Would have been better value just staying in Edinburgh. £331.00 for 3 nights at Seton Sands was a rip off.

On our last night we decided to check out the entertainment complex and we were glad we waited. The pub was not the picture of cleanliness. Menus and tables were sticky and dirty, they were out of napkins so gave us blue roll and the food left a lot to be desired. The 'entertainment' seemed to be a game of bingo with a group of people I'd rather not spend too much time with. Young kids out alone and sad old people. No thanks.

The best thing was the close proximity to the beach and we took a nice walk with the residents. Thankfully they still had a good time and that's what really counts. But in the future we won't be going anywhere near Seton Sands. There's far better places to spend your money.
