When we arrived at the Atrium Hotel, in the middle of September on our first visit to Skiathos, the taxi climbed the step drive and came to a stop outside of reception. We got out and turnaround to be welcomed by the most fantastic view of the sea and beaches - not only a sea view but a sea noise!
Our stay at the Atrium was most enjoyable, all the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a suite which gave us the little extra space we wanted and was very well appointed, it also meant that we only had to walk down a few steps to the main road or up a few steps to the pool - there are a lot of steps but if you take your time you will be fine.
We were never bothered by traffic noise and often slept with the doors opened and were lulled to sleep by the noise of the sea.
Breakfast was taken on the terrace by the pool and was varied enough to get us through two weeks.
We spent quite a few days by the pool and enjoyed a variety of lunches, all of a very high standard.
Like many, we only ate at the hotel in the evening once as we preferred to eat at the many quality tavernas locally and in Skiathos town.
Unlike other previous reviews we felt that the hotel attracts many different nationalities and did not feel like a Brit only hotel - we do try try to avoid those! There was a large party from the UK but they were there to celebrate the nuptials of the young couple getting married - see their own reviews as the Atrium is a great location for a wedding!
We had a fantastic stay at the Atrium it is perfectly located in the middle of the island, near to the bus stop and also some top beaches.
We will return, we can still hear the sea now, gently lapping the shore.........
