“Atrium Hotel Skiathos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

Wonderful hotel with very welcoming and friendly staff.
Architecture of hotel was unique......different to any other hotel we have been to, with rooms directly onto courtyards at different levels connected by steps and a lift.
Pool at almost the top of the hotel with a great view of the bay and due to it's location gets a welcome breeze. Pool spotlessly clean.
Breakfasts were fantastic. Didn't try the evening meals as there were many good local tavernas which were much cheaper and within about 5 minutes walk.
Area is quiet with tavernas, shops and more hotels.
Beach is 5 minutes walk and is well spaced out for sunbathing or lying in the shade without impinging on your nearest neighbours space with beach bars and watersports available.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good relaxing holiday in the sun!

Room Tip: Ask for a high up room as the view is better and you are near to the pool and restaurant/terrace/bar...

We are just in the hotel, it is 1 a.m. The music from the wedding celebration is so loud that it is impossible to sleep in our room. It would not havee neen the problem if we are not traveling home tomorrow. We are to drive 1000 km back home. OK, people are getting married, it is the happiest day of their life. That is what they have told us, at least they written it on the card posted in our room together with the bottle of wine as a treat. So, 240 EUR was what we have paid for this night. And vice versa, we are receiving the bottle of wine. I am sorry, but it is not enough. If I were the hotel manager I would have inform guests that my son is getting married on the very day, so it will be guests` decision weather they will put themselves in the situation -night without sleep before driving 2 kids back home. If we knew, we will went home one day earlier.
It is a shame, isn`t it. I have been traveling a lot, and I have seen many wedding during the holidays. I remember one celebration, it was on Sicily, it was realy beautifull. People had the party in the non busy area on the hottel. Here, everything is happening in the central area. We were not offered another room for this night, oh, no.
It is just not fair.
Having hotel open, but treat guests as they are not guests but the ones who pay but do not deserve good service...

We have just arrived home after a weeks stay at The Atrium. The hotel was perfect in every way and the beach opposite the hotel is one of the best on Skiathos Island. We stayed in a double garden room with jacuzzi and just further on from there was a seating area overlooking the sea. This is where my boyfriend proposed to me. It is my third time back to Skiathos and by far the best. The other two times I stayed in Skiathos Town but found it much better staying out of the town and hopping on the bus or flagging a taxi when we felt like going into town. The only thing I will say is that the Atrium is positioned at the top of a hill, so you need to be quite fit, but the views are well worth it. We will definitely be going back to Skiathos and back to The Atrium, a very special hotel. Emma & Peter, Manchester

If you are looking for a chill out holiday with stunning views, fantastic beaches and good food then Skiathos and the Atrium is the perfect location. The hotel is built into a hillside so quite a steep drive up to it. The bonus is that it overlooks the sea with mainland Greece on the horizon.
There a number of stylish lounges and balconies and a lovely pool bar.
The service is great and all the staff are so friendly.
We stayed half board and the food was delicious and varied with plenty of choice.
Our room and balcony were very spacious with all the facilities one would expect.
Everything was kept clean and in good order.
Clean pool and beach towels were available each day which was a bonus as this saved having to take any and avoided the need to dry them overnight.
Bit of a luxury, and you don't need to hire a car as there is a good bus service, but we had a convertible jeep for the duration and visited different beautiful and clean beaches each day. This also allowed us to pop into Skiathos town in the evening after dinner for a stroll through the cobbled streets and shops finishing off with a coffee at Girani's, our favourite bar and coffee shop, overlooking the fabulous yachts in the harbour.
It's our 5th visit to Skiathos and 2nd visit to the Atrium and we will definitely be going back to the Atrium next year.

Stayed here for 1 week in beginning of July - it was hot! Around 32 degrees each day without a cloud in the sky.

The hotel was very nice, breakfast was good, and the bbq buffet on Fri night was brilliant and great value too at 20 euros. Lots of meats and salads and fish was stuffed silly!

Beds are hard - even for me and i like a hard bed but soon got used to it, Do bring mozzie spray though as my friend got bitten silly but then what do you expect when you go round wearing perfumed body lotion - they seem to like this as I hardly got bitten at all!

Drinks are a bit expensive though but the setting is to die for, lovely pool which I didnt go in once as every day we went to a different beach, finally settling on Banana beach with all the music, it was such good fun!

Skiathos is easy, safe and fun to get around in, theres only one road and the bus comes regularly every 10-15 mins but it does get crowded though, I would hate to think what its like in August!

The town is full of great places to eat and theres such a great chilled out vibe to the place.

Would definitely return to the Atrium and Skiathos.

The only downside I will mention is that they have a pool table but you have to go down to reception to get the cues and balls which is a pain, dont they trust the customers???

Plus - upon arrival we got shown around but the receptionist didnt show us the big lounge area and piano area - we had to find that by ourselves, but only discovered it on the last day!

Still, its a small hotel and the only reason we didnt spend more time on site is because the beaches were so good!

Travelled with Thomas Cook - was fantastic value for money and cant wait to return! Also did a guided tour of Skiathos Town with the Greek Local Vasilius who knows all about the history of the place and showed us some amazing restaurants with brilliant views - go and book him if you can!!! I He's on the Tripadvisor attractions somewhere - thats how I found him - Do it at the beginning of your holiday so youll get the most out of it.

He also showed us round the Bourtzi island and pointed out the old canons and showed us round the old town and then we had a drink at the Bourtzi Cafe.

Skiathos was brilliant! Beaches are fantastic, prices are very reasonable ie 15 euros for dinner each! Would go back in a heartbeat

If you are looking for a romantic break with stunning views and good food then the Atrium hotel will not disappoint. Situated on the hillside overlooking the ocean, this hotel is rustic but chic in its design, with plenty of bars and lounge areas to sit and take in the view with a glass of something cold. Our room although quite small was very comfortable and had the advantage of having far reaching views across the ocean. The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly, and the rooms and public areas were impeccably clean and well maintained. Not recommended for anyone with mobility problems due to the steep hills.
