We were supposed to be going to a different hotel and my wife got confused and we ended up here.

Thanks to the owner for sorting the confusion out we got to stay and I can not rave enough about this place enough.

The attention to detail and thought gone into design is like nothing I have ever seen before. There is simply nothing negative to say about the rooms or the hosts.

The breakfast was out of this world, we were served a granola first with fresh berries (I had seen the guy delivering the berries 10 mins before breakfast, that's how fresh they were) and then a full English which words can not describe how good it was

The cost is incredibly good value considering the standard, this is a perfect getaway for a romantic couple.

If you stay one place in the next twelve months treat yourself to this, my only regret is that we did not have an evening meal here as this would have been the icing on the cake. Anyway a good excuse to come back for my wife's birthday in July!

A massive thanks to Jason and the team for the best stay ever.

Stayed in the recently added 'appartment' a lovely comfortable and relaxing room (we'll be using the same Farrow and Ball paints at home!!)
Food and service could not be faulted at breakfast or dinner.
Simon and Jason have a winning formula, we'll be back.

We stayed for one night on route to Lymington. What a find. We stayed in the newly created Apartment which was fabulous. With its super king size bed, seating area and walk in rain shower, we were in seventh heaven. Our evening meal and breakfast were faultless.

The Wellington Arms is not easy to find but well worth it. We stayed one night and had a great evening meal followed by a relaxed breakfast the following morning.

The owners Simon and Jason have restored a wreck of a pub into a gastro delight. They have created a very impressive dining pub with great gardens and a love for simple food well prepared.

We might have expected a fish option and summer fruit but the menu was heavily meat based. The owners keep chickens, pigs and bees. The eggs are for sale.

Be careful not to confuse this place with the other Wellington Arms on the A30 (which was my mistake). Not easy to explain at the end of a long hot day!

Room Tip: There are only two room in a converted barn behind the main pub. Both are well fitted out with comfo...

We went on a personal recommendation for a small family reunion and booked both the rooms (there are currently only two) which were both beautifully presented and comfortable.
We had lunch and dinner - both memorable, superbly cooked meals with locally sourced produce, some of which was as local as the back garden of this pretty little country pub. It exceeded expectations by some margin, even allowing for the original glowing recommendation and is well worth going out of your way for. We'll be doing it again soon.

Room Tip: There are only two and there both splendid.

We went to the Wellington Arms with friends, at their suggestion. We were not disappointed disappointed with the choice. The stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant on a Saturday night. The service was relaxed and attentive, well balanced in my opinion. The food was seasonal and plentiful. I could hardly move after the deer pot pie, but managed to do justice to the Sticky Toffee pudding. The ethos of the establishment is local and seasonal food, which I approve of. The Beer was from down the road in Hampshire, Bowman Ales, and a lot of produce actually comes from the Gardens. Take time to sit in the garden it is a little oasis. The bedrooms have enormous beds and are finished to a very high standard. Breakfast, the following morning, was perfect, including homemade sourdough bread, homemade preserves and their own hens eggs. Fantastic, very good hospitality.

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms, located in old outbuildings, at the moment. There are plans to add more. A s...

We too found the Wellington Arms through Sawdays and it has fully met our expectations. We arrived on Saturday just after service was due to finished and were shown to our rooms by Jason (co-owner and chef) and were impressed by all the care and attention to detail in the rooms. Firstly, the beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms well appointed with lovely Aesop products. We drifted over for dinner at 6pm, with our table booked for 8pm, to ensure we had time for some aperatifs. The beer was well kept and flowing.
Dinner itself was superb, with the choices all coming from a well balanced blackboard menu. We had asparagus, scallops, cheese soufflé, deer pot pie, turbot, Wellington mess, chocolate mouse and sticky toffee ginger pudding between us. This is very well executed cooking with fabulous ingredients. A couple of bottles of well sourced wine helped. One small weakness is that they had run out of Campari, one of the reds and one of the whiskeys we wanted, which is a shame on a small-ish card.
Breakfast the following morning was just as impressive and the eggs from their own hens were delicious.
All part of of lovely weekend.
