“One of the better PI's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Stayed here on a couple of occasions on business and it is one of the better PI's. The location is 2mins of the motorway with easy links to the city Centre via the train. The rooms are a little dark and cooler than I would like, breakfast is always good here and the same lovely lady always looks after you and sorts out the fresh breakfast.

My Brother, Sister In-Law, Mum and myself went to Liverpool to meet up with some Relatives we found on our Family Tree.
We stayed in the Premier Inn which was just outside the Town just what we wanted, It had a Wonderful Conservatory where we ate dinner and Breakfast also a Lovely garden where we sat out in the sunshine.
It was very busy because Liverpool v Everton where playing but despite how busy it was they couldn't have been more helpful, the service was excellent, food was first class, all the staff where very friendly, Pearl, Chris Denis to name but a few. The Room was clean and had everything we needed, the bed was really comfortable, despite the amount of football fans staying there It was quiet, we all had a Lovely nights sleep.

Room Tip: We where on the second floor but If all the rooms where the same as ours you would have no problem...

Easy to find just of the motorway. Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend. The room was quite reasonably priced, and in good shape, though on the second morning for some reason the additional towel had been removed.
The bar was very busy but had a really good atmosphere and the staff were on the ball. The food was fairly good as well. Only downside was at breakfast where they didn't seem to be able to manage the required number of cups and plates for the amount of people going through. That said the food was plentiful and the cooked breakfast was very nice as were the staff.
There is a train station a few hundred yards down the road with regular trains into Liverpool at little cost and it only takes about 15 mins.

Stayed here on business for 1 night. I have previously stayed here and the room I had was quite nice (standard Premier Inn).

However the room I got this time seemed to be very dated. The bathroom was in serious need of an overhaul. The whole feel of it was grubby, not to mention the yellow radiator (which was once white, but has discoloured over time). There was some sort of insulation hanging out near the top of the window as well.

For some reason, they had also screwed down the kettle in the middle of the desk, which didn't help me trying to do some work on the evening.

Also, the service in the attached Table Table was awful, took the best part of 20 minutes to get a drink. All of the waiting staff clearly knew the kitchen was understaffed and customers weren't happy as I could hear them discussing how long certain tables had been waiting for food.

The girl on the front desk was very pleasant and attentive, it's a shame really, as it was quite pleasant the last time I visited this Premier Inn.

Room Tip: Avoid room 48... it's bad!

I did not stay here but I am a local and wish to help - contrary to what one poster wrote the trains do run in the evening, last train from City to Roby on City Line leaves Lime Street about 10.30pm and takes about 15 minutes, a taxi would be about £10 to £15 certainly not £25

Got to agree with Kirk Duyt.Best Premier Inn me and the family have stayed in.Staff at Roby are the most helpful we've come across yet ,and the rest have been great at the other P I hotels we've stayed at.The difference at Roby is that they are more like extended family. They couldn't do enough for us in the hotel and also at Derby Lodge where the staff were equally as friendly and helpful.I can without hesitation recommend this hotel to stay at if you are going to Liverpool for a long weekend.

Just returned from a 2 night stay and found the hotel as per usual premier standards more than adequate. Rooms comfy, bathroom although small nice and clean. All staff very helpful even arranging a taxi for us into Liverpool. Overall a very nice affordable hotel just outside the city with free parking.
