Had great expectations - "there's this wonderful place on the old Bordeaux - Auch road that you must stop at".... Occupying an enviable slot on this road in Garein, with very few alternatives nearby, this place is pretty popular. Offering a Landais style menu it promises much. But it's neither cheap nor very good. Confit of duck, not as good as you'd hope, the usually delicious skin was flabby and chewy; for example. The salad assembled rather than created, the potage thin and bland. Some negative reviews on other sites, such as "they make you sit at the bar for your coffee" ....not borne out but conceivable if it does get busy and there's pressure on tables. But for 2 lowest-priced MDJs plus house wine, 2 of us had little change from 60 euros; this is poor value and forgettable.
