“Perfect Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

We had a perfect lunch here on the terrace. I love this place. The food is great, the setting is wonderful and the service is good.

“There are better places to eat”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

Decor- animal heads on walls, antler chandelier- doesn't really come together in terms of style. Parking is across the street and free. We chose the prix fixe menu at 27 Euros with a choice of 3 entrees (appetizers), a choice of 3 mains, choice of dessert. My spouse had the duck main course and compared to duck we've had at other restaurants, this was a small portion, fatty, bone in and well cooked. Usually duck is served rare to maintain the tenderness. The more it's cooked, the tougher the texture. My entrecote (steak) was terrible. It arrived well done, even though it was ordered "saignant" (pink to rare), was tough to chew, had lots of gristle. The entrees were average with Norwiegen salad not composed of lettuce but more meat/protein based. The pate of chicken was fine a appetizer. The dessert choices were off the main menu and included the usual sweet stuff however, we both opted for the cheese plate. You can't go wrong with cheese! Service was acceptable. The room is large and there is a second room for diners/private parties. Given this area of the Medoc, there are nicer, better tasting menus than La Boule D'Or. Having said that, we did run into other tourists who ate there the night before and ordered fish. Apparently the fish was a large portion and tasted fine.
