“Location...beauty....comfort! Perfect base for Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

You can't beat this property for location, beauty and comfort. Staying here you'll experience all of Venice's charm without the crowds! Early and late are the best time for photos and you can get lots of terrific shots near this property. Bakery is just up the street and grocery store around the corner. Purchase boat passes 4 days before arrival in Venice for on-line discounts.

“Absolutely lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

From the moment I contacted Jackie to book this apartment, I can't fault anything. She is extremely professional and helpful with the booking and gives a huge amount of info on the area and the apartment. Everything is exactly as described.
We were met by the agent as arranged and taken to the apartment and again given loads of useful info and tips regarding where to eat, drink and shop. Nothing is too much trouble.
The apartment is gorgeous and has everything you need for a comfortable stay- just a shame we couldn't enjoy the courtyard due to poor weather.
It is literally 5 mins to the bus stop and airport drop off, 5 mins to a number of bars and restaurants and 5 mins to the supermarket. 10 mins to Academia bridge and onto st marks square - perfect.
Absolutely recommend and will stay again when we come back.

“Absolute perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Stayed here with another couple and we really couldn't have found a better place. The apartment had everything we needed for dining in, or going out. The local agent who met us was very friendly and helpful - the owner, Jackie, was always available to answer our many questions. Gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. Inside the apartment is charming and light, richly decorated and beautifully appointed.
The location is absolute perfection because you are away from the horrible crowds of San Marco and Rialto, but can walk to either or anywhere else in Venice for that matter within 10-15 minutes. Quiet neighborhood and the private courtyard is FANTASTIC. The passing gondoliers are all friendly and lend to an unbeatable atmosphere. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for an extraordinary place to stay. Thank you, Jackie!

“Highly recommended for a stay in this wonderful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

After a little bit of confusion about the 'meet and greet', once we arrived at the apartment we settled in very quickly and had a great stay for four days. The local area is excellent, much quieter than the hustle and bustle of the main tourist sites, and yet within easy (and very pleasant) walking distance from all of them. Local facilities (supermarket, wine shop, bread shop - what more do you need?) are all within a five minute walk. Also, a good selection of great restaurants are right on your doorstep. The apartment had everything we needed, very clean, quiet and relaxing. The furnishings are rich and predominately deep venetian red, so it can seem a little dark inside, particularly in the sitting room, but that's a matter of individual taste. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

“Can I Live Here? PLEASE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

This is my second stay in this, clean, well stocked, best located, apartment. Jackie makes sure your stay is as perfect as it can be. And, the outdoor space, right on the canal is priceless. Sit with your wine and nod to the gondolier as he goes by.

“No more thought could possibly have gone into making the apartment welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2012 for a stay in December 2011

Although the location was a bit remote for touring the rest of the city, the apartment was so completely and attractively equipped that that slight inconvenience didn't matter. The owner's love of Venice and desire to share it with her guests were pervasive: her shelves were stocked with tour books and maps, novels and histories, CDs and movies, as well as personalized guides to the neighborhood. She even had umbrellas and boots available in case of aqua alta. As for the kitchen, she had assembled everything you could possibly need to turn the fresh seafood and produce from the nearby markets into an impressive meal, including Venetian cookbooks to guide you. I can't imagine not loving Ca' Venexiana!

Thank you for your kind words...we are so happy you enjoyed your stay; Dorsoduro is indeed a true haven in Venice, loved over the centuries for its serene, artistic atmosphere which has inspired poets (Browning and Ezra Pound both lived here) and artists for many generations. And still does today...very often you can watch painters at work on the Zattere or along Fondamenta Gherardini. Best wishes to you in 2012! Ciao!

“I could barely stand to leave, it was so wonderful...”

This is a fantastic neighborhood to stay in - very residential, relatively low-key, within walking distance to many great sights as well as 2 vaporetto stops. Go to the Zattere for dinner outside by the water, it is lovely. There is a great supermarket right near the vaporetto stop. Definitely get the multi-day pass if you will be doing a lot of travelling around the canals - much cheaper than buying individual tickets.
