My husband and I, along with our two adult children (in their 20's) had a bit of a different experience than most of the reviews on this site. I had the "fisherman's special" -- a pasta dish with clams and mussels and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The head waiter/owner? was interacting with the guests, a local was singing at his table while he was eating, and we enjoyed ourselves. My oldest son ordered a beer and ended up with a mug that could have easily been a liter or more! The 11 euro charge for the beer was a bit excessive, but all in all we had an enjoyable dinner. Since we were eating later in the day, we didn't mind the slower pace as we enjoyed interacting with others and watching the passersby (and dogs). We understood that Venice was probably one of the more expensive cities for dining, so the price did not surprise us.
