We happened upon this quaint little town with the intention of going to John Wayne island. We were unable to figure out how to get to the island as our phone calls and emails were not returned although we tried for many days. We decided to drive there anyway hoping to figure it out when we got there but we were not successful at finding a boat to take us so we ended up at Restaurante Punta Chame Villas for lunch. We ended up staying the afternoon!
What we found was instant friendship. The two George's and staff made us feel like we were a guest at their resort although we had just stopped for lunch. George the owner took our son (1yr) into the pool as he was very hot. He gave us a towel so he could go for a swim in the gorgeous pool. It was quite hot and this certainly refreshed him. Meanwhile our three year old was jumping in the bouncy castle and playing with some kids at the playground. We had ordered our drinks and lunch from the restaurant and our wonderful server found us at the playground and delivered our drinks with a smile!
My husband was interested in big game fishing and mentioned this and within 10 minutes George had a contact on the phone for him to talk to. Truely outstanding customer service.
The food was tremendous. The Panamanian chicken and rice was delicious as was the mixed fajita. We also shared a whole corvina which was perfectly cooked. The pasta alfredo was also very tasty.
The owners are wonderful genuine people. They are so welcoming and kind and so proud of their beautiful resort. We enjoyed stumbling upon this little gem. Perfect getaway for a little romance and if you have kids there is a playground and pool with extremely friendly staff that also speak English.
