The Siolim house is a fantastic hotel oozing old world charm and exceptional hospitality. The place exudes character from the moment you enter the gates. The staff were extremely courteous, warm and very helpful. We were made to feel at home from the moment we entered. The main house with its large suites is fabulous. The other rooms around the courtyard are also charming. We had opted for the a/c rooms in the courtyard section but we didn't really need the a/c. The rooms were comfortable with lovely 4 poster beds. The pool is beautiful. The best part of it was the absence of TV's in the rooms (they have one in the lounge) - a welcome change as we didn't want another standard 5 star hotel and the commercialized visit associated with the same. We also saw their new annex which had 3 rooms with a small private pool and a lovely drawing room and open kitchen, ideal for 6 adults (and kids) - thereby taking the whole place for themselves. If you are looking for a non-commercial, quiet and relaxed getaway, the Siolim House is an ideal destination. They bake their own breads and biscuits which are delicious. The manager was very kind to even pack some for us when we left. Totally worth the rates charged.

Room tip: Take the Macau suite (the largest one) if you want to indulge in space. There is also another suite on the ground floor of the main house which has 2 bedrooms so can easily house either 4 adults or a family with 2 teenagers. The rooms in the main house don't have a/c's. We went in June and opted for the other rooms around the courtyard which had a/c's but in the end we didn't need the a/c as the high ceilings and fans were more than enough to keep the room pleasantly cool.

Siolim House is truly the best hotel experience in Goa. Perfectly located between the Northern and more busy Southern beaches, It has the charm of a family house, yet provides an excellent service. I like the work of restoration made in this centuries old mansion. The food is great and the staff lovely. A place not to miss

My wife and I went to Siolim House in May. The property is gorgeous. The owner, Mr. Varun Sood, was affable, and extremely hospitable. He has lovingly restored an old Portuguese mansion. Each room is a visual delight. The rooms are extremely large and comfortable. The outdoor pool, flanked by palm trees, is wonderful. The service, led by the very able Alex, is fantastic. It's an oasis of calm. We'd definitely visit again.

Welcoming oasis in a north Goa village. You can read online about the details of the colonial restoration -- an interesting story -- but you'll have to visit to experience the warmth of the staff, owner and guests. Love their attitude and approach. We also took a cooking class and market trip to learn more about this part of India. Highly recommended.

Room tip: In the air-conditioned room off the dining room, steps lead up to the toilet in the huge bathroom... talk about a throne!

Wonderful house with very comfortable and pretty rooms. Charming and helpful staff. A peaceful place to stay in contrast to most of the beaches but close enough to the action to get out and about every day. Highly recommend staying here.
