I spent recently one night in Ishavilas ( November 24th).
I can only say that I regreat for booking just one night because Ishavilas is the kind of place that make us feel so well, that we aim to return as soon as possible.
The property is located in a very nice small village called Siolim, in the countryside of Goa but close to the sea and the capital Panjim. The house is an old Portuguese colonial house as well as the other beautiful houses that we can find nearby. Surrounded by nice green environment, keeps inside the charm evidenced on the eclectic decoration, a mix of antique and asian style. Every room has a distinct theme and particular design. My room was the Kailash room and It was really nice with a lovely bathroom.
We had a very nice dinner that night in the beautiful dining room. The food is excellent.
The swimming pool and the area surrounding it is absolutely wonderful, with nice chairs and daybed. There is a lovely oriental cottage facing the pool which has a very nice architecture style.
We had a Yoga class in the morning before breakfast with a very good Yoga teacher, which is really recommended!
Its nice to walk in the neighborhood and feel the sense of the past patented in the old Portuguese houses and churches.
I must mention the service because it is really good! Everybody made us feel at home and in fact we felt as part of the “family”, which is so nice when we go abroad!
One last word dedicated to the manager of this jewel, Mr. Newton, who did everything to turn our stay even more pleasant. We thank him and really appreciate all the devotion to his job, which is absolutely admirable.
This is a real jewel in Goa, a place for those that appreciate a peaceful holiday with green scenery, feeling at home, but at the same time inspired by the beauty of the house and interior design. A real charm!!!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Neemrana’s first 'Noble Home', Ishavilas is a private, fully-serviced luxury villa located in the sleepy town of Siolim in Goa. The villa takes its name from the Hindu word ‘Isha’ which means the formless primordial source of creation. Not the average rental villa, it was designed and built by a series of two Owners since 2000 for use as their second home. As a home, it is being spruced up and decorated as more art arrives. Ishavilas is nestled amongst nature’s tropical bounty of leaf and fruit, abundant trees and a blooming garden. This beautiful Portuguese-colonial house, with its grand entrance and long driveway, is a true tropical haven of tranquility. Conveniently placed on the edge of Siolim, Ishavilas receives and pampers like a home, but also evokes an exotic and luxurious lifestyle, unique only to the Orient. Gilded pediments above doors, objets d’art, gold braid cushions on antique furniture set the style indoors while stone statues dress the garden of crotons and pathways. You will feel very much as if you are stepping into a private home rather than a rental villa. ... more less
