Description: The Dinghy Dock Bar is a true Caribbean dive bar. Situated on a historic marina in Oyster Pond, the bar straddles the Dutch and French line sitting over the water. It's a place where high and low, locals and tourists, rub elbows and party the night away. It was originally a place to get the rowdy drunken sailor's out of the finer establishments in the area. Sit at the bar and to hear stories told, some true and many not, from around the island and around the world. The "mix your own" happy hour is the best around. That's right, you get the bottle, glass, mixer, and make you own drink. This is also one of the best-stocked bars on the island, with the usual suspects, as well some unusual ones - even a selection of craft beers from the US for those missing a taste of home. The kitchen makes some of the best casual bar food around, lunch and dinner. You won't find better fish and chips, ribs, burgers, wings, or anything else on the menu. Daily specials vary from goat stew to jerk pork chops to blackened grouper. We open at 8am for coffee and fresh baked croissants. The kitchen opens around 11am and runs until you're stuffed. All are welcome - kids, dogs, iguanas, random dock critters, old and young people - provided, of course, they're up for a good time. Family friendly most of the day and night, late night is definitely more suited for the "big kids". You never know what will happen at this place. There is also live music every Sunday night and usually 2-3 other nights of the week. Sports fan? The game is always on at the Dinghy Dock. Whether it's NFL, NHL, NBA, Soccer, College, Pro, Olympics, you name it and we will like be watching. Stop by and yell at the tvs(that's right, more than one) with us. You are guaranteed to have a good time no matter what night you go, and once you've been there, you will be back. Maybe because you got so drunk you forgot your shoes, or maybe to do it all over again. Dinghy Dock Bar "The Peril of Oyster Pond"

“Happy Happy Hour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

The Dingy Dock is a fun little pub the boss is a fun guy and the happy hour is a real bargain, beer is $2 or you can pour your own highballs. They give you a tall skinny glass full of ice and leave it to you for booze mix ratio. Clearly some of the clients have been pickling their livers there every night, kind of like the show cheers. The food was passable we had a nice Calamari appy. Bring your US$ because they give only 1:1 credit for Euros.

I love this place. The people are down to earth, the happy hour is fantastic and don't forget about Seth's other half. They are both fantastic...I'll be back!

“Yum (and not just the food)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Four of my girlfriends and I came to Dinghy Dock for my bachelorette party before my wedding that will be in April in St. Thomas. We had the good fortune to meet the new owner, Seth, and let's just say, not only did he make my last "hurrah" one to remember, but all five of us left with complete satisfaction. The food was outstanding and the bar was exactly what it's supposed to be: an awesome dive bar right on the dock, and the owner was beyond awesome. Thanks, Seth, for a night I'll never forget! :)

“Things have changed here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We have gone to the Dinghy Dock for the past 3 years. This year was different. They now have menus instead of ordering off of a board posted both in the front of the restaurant and the back. That part is a good change. We had the mussels and they were excellent, and the other couple we were with had the seafood pasta and they said it was really good so it seems the food hasn't changed much but the service was slow. The party we were with decided to tip good because they were coming back the next day but we wouldn't have tipped at all. We believe in tipping really good if the service is good but if the waitress comes back once within an hour or you have to wave her over then that isn't good. We will still go back next year to visit and hopefully the service is better.
