“Tranquil setting, great food, great service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Serene setting on Oyster Pond Marina overlooking yachts at anchor. Carpaccio of tuna with coconut was exquisite. Grouper and Snapper entrees were both very good. Unfortunately they do not serve any nonalcoholic beer. Weak on nonalcoholic alternatives. Had a great dinner!

“The Meal was average, the Setting was outstanding”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

The setting of this restaurant was beautiful The food was just average. The sauces were served on the bottom of the fish we ordered which seemed strange and my husband's mahi was overcooked and dry. The food was not the reason I would never go back. After we came home we found out that our credit card was compromised, Another couple in our group had the same issue with their credit card and we found that this restaurant was the only place we used these cards at the same time. The third couple used cash...and good for them. It certainly looks like there is an employee in this restaurant that is dishonest. If you go there use cash.

“Bad service, mediocre food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

Captain Oliver's was a big disappointment. The atmosphere is nice and the bussing staff was very friendly. But our server and the maitre d' seemed disdainful and inattentive despite the fact that the restaurant was not crowded at all. We had lots of great service in St. Martin and Captain Olivers stood out for the unfriendliness of some of the staff. The food was very mediocre and thus very overpriced - totally not worth the trip. The upsides were the nice outdoor atmosphere and the very friendly bussing staff. But we wouldn't go back.

“Very nice location but TERRIBLE food, poor service and very expensive!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

The location in the marina is beautiful but thats pretty much it. Everything we ordered was tasteless and did not correspond to what was on the menu. We ordered salmon tartare and they served us smoked salmond with bagel and crem cheese. We ordered mahi-mahi with a creme and pasti sauce and they served us a boiled piece of fish with a plain white sauce. The food is a shame, the house wine was discusting and the waiters were really unprofessional. The restaurant look fancy but it is really not. We got out of there with a bill of 100$ for one appetizer, two main course and two glass of wine that were all disgusting. Really dont worth it!

“Not worth the effort to find”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012 via mobile

I have been to St Martin a couple of times and this place was by far the worst dinning experience my family and I have every received. The food was average at best and the lack of service confirmed that we wouldnt every go back to this place. Very disappointing!
