“Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We stayed here for a week in April 2013. We have stayed at quite a few other resorts as well; this is by far our favorite-we have been here 3 times before. It is not crowded (which means there are plenty of lounge chairs on the beach). The food is very good The drinks are not watered down. The entire resort, from rooms to gym to beach is very clean. The staff is very friendly and will assist in any way possible. If something is not right or not to your liking-tell them and they will take care of it.The concierges have helped us to make plans for several day trips and really spent some time with us on at least 2 occasions when problems popped up (having to do with lost luggage and late transportation).
You do need flippers or water shoes to swim here. The beach has quite a few rocky spots and is uneven at places. The rocks, coral and holes make for lots of fish and really good snorkeling.
We really love it here. Very relaxing but there are things to do. Guests are usually very pleasant. We highly recommend The Reef. We'll be going back ASAP!

Wonderful resort...all the reviews I read said this resort was great and I would say" Book here! Best meal on the island was "steak night at the reef." Seven mile beach is beautiful but much more crowded and busy...this place was serene....

Found heaven on earth at The Reef. The most tranquil, serene, secluded, peaceful resort ever. Working full time raising six kids in New York after a week at The Reef w my daughter I was completely refreshed, invigorated, revitalized and destressed. The beachfront suites were amazing and the view was spectacular. The snorkeling was outstanding. The rooms were immaculate and plenty of towels. The staff was just wonderful Oshane was the best Rocky, Suzie and Tonia went above and beyond. The gym was great. Dinner on the beach was cool and the Caribbean barbecue had great food. Alan, Dave and Raphael from White Sands were an added bonus and gave us fun, exciting and very memorable ocean adventures. Having vacationed at some of the top five star resorts in the Caribbean I was still blown away by how special this place was. It is truly a treasure. I'm not surprised at how wonderful everything was after having had the pleasure of meeting the sweet man who runs it, Gaetan Bobbin you are doing an awesome job. Make sure to rent a car and hit The Cayman Taffy Store to bring back some yummy taffy, chocolates and caramel popcorn for friends back home.

We stayed in a condo on the ground level and it was fantastic! The beach was clean and it was very peaceful. The pool was nice as well. Loved the restaurant on the beach!!!! It is worth it to rent a car so you can explore the island.

We've just returned from staying six nights at The Reef and can only say ... wow. From the moment we arrived and checked in, we were impressed. Our room overlooked the ocean, and was very clean and spacious. This was our first visit to the East end of the island, so we were unsure of what to expect as far as the beach but were very pleased at the pristine sand and clear water. Also, this end of the island is a bit remote, which we liked. We rented a car at the airport and it took about 40 minutes to get to The Reef. Highly recommend staying there if you want a beautiful and relaxing environment -- we'll definitely be going back!

Room Tip: Full kitchens are available in the one bedroom suite. Recommend picking up groceries from the large...

This was our second year in a row at the Reef and we loved it just as much as last year. The staff is extremely accommodating and attentive from the minute you check-in to check-out. The concierge is readily available to assist with planning any adventures you may want to take during your stay. Most importantly the resort is beautiful. The entire place is beachfront so you really can't get a bad view. The pool rests in between the resort and the beach and the whole atmosphere of the resort is relaxation. We did the all-inclusive, which if you like to have a few drinks is a great value. The food was great especially breakfast and dinner, the lunch menu could use a little sprucing up but was still good. The bar staff is GREAT, you really get to know them through your stay and develop a personal connection. All in all we absolutely love the Reef and hope to be back next year!

This place is more a time share than an resort. We totally enjoyed the quiet location. There is a couple of restaurants at The Reef and at the resort next door and a Italian restaurant across the street. There is also a subway right at The Reef that was convenient for picnics. There is also a grocery store, a liquor store and a store with clothes, snorkel gear etc..The snorkeling at The Reef was GREAT the fish were every where especially around the piers. About an hour before dark you could see the lobster come out from under the reefs. If you plan on exploring the island a car is a must, but if you are planning to just kick back everything is right there. I would advise bug spray at night, the no-see-em bites have a delayed reaction on the swelling and itching. We was home for four days before he broke out with chicken pock looking bumps and I was home for nine days. We love the island, you can go anywhere and have a beach all to yourself. We dined at Over the edge a couple of times, it was delicious and it is only a 10 or 15 minute ride heading towards Rum Point. The botanical garden was incredible. D & J seafood in East End has not only the nicest people you could ever meet but also the freshest seafood. When we go back to the Island we would defiantly stay at The Reef.
