“Good location, a bit run down but still a good price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

We stayed there for some nights in March. We have chosen this place as it was a good value for a self catering accomodation. We had an upstairs room, which was really run down. The bed was terrible with old matrasses. Graham, the host, is very helpful. The kitchen is perfect for people cooking themselves. The location is safe and close to a lot of good restaurants and sights. Also almost at the sea. It has a good price but do not expect something nice and fancy but if you are looking for self catering and do not want to spend as much as in a B&B in the surroundings, it is a fair place to stay.

My wife had stayed at Milton lodge in 2010 and said it was fantastic and it completely live up to that. Firstly Graham our host was so friendly and accommodating during the booking process, every question, request was dealt with immediately and he accommodated all our needs.

We stayed at milton lodge with our two children (8 and 11) and on arrival the lodge was a slice of an oasis. The room where we stayed was stunning, very well presented with 1 kingsize and 2 single beds. Everything was clean and crisp. The shared living room and kitchen were great, every detail was there, from the sat. TV and big comfortable sofas, books and magazines to a full equip kitchen, with everything you need to make all meals.

There were laundry facilities which were excellent and we used them on a daily basis after our beach/surfing activities.

However the main thing about milton lodge is graham. He is fantastic, a wealth of information about Cape Town and surrounding areas, but also he is so accomodating to everyone who stays in his house. He will try his hardest to make your stay the best.

The location in the middle of Sea Point is prime. It's 5 mins walk to Sea Point coastal walk and 3 mins to Main Street. Which has a huge amount of family friendly superb restaurant, such as Pizzeria Napoltna, Mykonos, Mr Chan. It's a 5 min drive from the V&A.

My wife and kids (ESP the kids) loved Graham and Milton lodge. It's reasonable, friendly, warm and a lovely place to stay. We will def be coming back for our third visit. Thanks Graham for making our holiday !

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10days and it was absolutely amazing! Why was it amazing: The staff are just SO warm, friendly, helpful, full of stories and inside bits of knowledge. You need anything from an adapter to ideas for the day they are great.
The room was clean and bright, full of sunlight. We stayed upstairs. It is also in a prime position as you walk 10 steps and you are on the promenade which we walked every morning and the red sight seeing bus leaves right around the corner. There is also a bus stop right there that we caught to get into the Waterfront. Easy as Pie. :)
It is self-catering so you do need to wash up behind yourself. Each room gets a lil basket that belongs to you that you can fill up with your purchased provisions. Love this place. Will def return.

Room Tip: Just send them an email and they will help you choose, but I would recommend staying upstairs if you...
