Called in with five friends after reading other reviews. Had to wait best part of an hour for food, had, however been warned of slight delay. Whilst waiting another customer sent his pie back.
When food arrived it was only average. Gammon, chips etc very dry, looked like it had been under the lamps a while. Did not enjoy at all

When we walked in after a long walk it was like we had never been away Dave and Julie the owners greeting us with hugs and blue our dog with a treat they had no vacancies so we had a couple of drinks then reluctantly headed for our b and b.We soon returned we had another great meal and night out thanks to Dave Julie and there fantastic staff and paddy their collie for the entertainment along with our Merle BLUE our only disappointment was that we were not staying there so made abooking for November and we can not wait thanks again for everything.

My wife and I stayed at the Blue bell inn on the 10th and 11th of October. The inn is a beautiful old pub in a spectacular location. The pub is wonderful, the staff are wonderful, the food is unbelievably good and the portions immense. Another factor in the Blue bell's favour is dogs are allowed in the bar and rooms. However the rooms are on the small side, but they are well appointed and comfortable, with wonderful views of the surrounding fells. All in all a wonderful inn in which to spend a relaxing weekend in beautiful surroundings.

After a walk we arrived at the pub for a drink and meal. As we had the dog with us we went to the beer garden to find no chairs or tables. So I went inside and asked politely if we could bring the dog in as there were no chairs or tables outside to which I received an abrupt No. We will not return not because dog could not go in but because of the way I was spoken to. It was not my fault they had no seating outside and anyway there was not a sole in the place

We now visit the Dales every year and this Pub is a MUST visit. The welcome you receive is fantastic, our dogs are made to feel very welcome and the food is of exceptional quality, home cooked and plentiful. The beers are well kept and the log burner in the Snug makes for a fantastic sit down and chill out. For us, this is one our our favourites in the area - staff are so great and nothing is ever a problem for them - our heartfelt thanks for this.

Absolutely love this pub - the food is top notch and keeps me going back here over and over again.
I've been to the other pubs in the village but this one by far is the best.
The landlord is a top character who likes to have a natter too - very knowledgeable about the local area. Would highly recommend this pub!
