“a friendly pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We stayed for one night and all was as expected. Friendly efficient welcome. Adequate double room. Nothing to write home about in itself, a little basic but clean, neat, and away from the bar area. Bed seemed slightly small but probably a
We did not eat at the pub in the evening but had a sandwich/snack the next day. Slightly on the expensive side we thought- £5.25 for baked brie but was fine.
Breakfast large but were happy to adapt it to be smaller!
Arranged so we could leave our car whilst we went for a walk.

We were welcomed by the landlady and given an adequate double room, which was clean, modern and some distance from the bar. Local ales were very good - especially enjoyed Golden Pippin. Classic pub food was fine, if a little pricey. Breakfast was huge and set us up for a long day's walk in this lovely part of the country.

A group of us stayed here whilst cycling the YD cycle way. What a superb location. We arrived after cycling from Reeth to Kettlewell. We got our rooms, which were nice. Three of us shared a room. The owners are really accomodating and helpful. We sat outside in the sunshine all afternoon.

The cooked breakfasts are amazing!!

We stayed here overnight in June 2013, as, in May 2013 I had happened to pop in for a beer one evening during a bicycle tour and found it to be a cheery den! Absolutely no complaints. If I lived in Kettlewell it would definitely be my 'local pub'. We would be happy to drop by or stay overnight again - it's said that Yorkshire folk can be a bit dour and grumpy, the Blue Bell shows this to be a myth. Very happy to have discovered this gem.

What a pity the weather let us down the weekend before the second May Bank Holiday - the Blue Bell Inn certainly did not. Friendly welcome, even a log fire, albeit a little too warm for us. Fabulous food served quickly and great choice of local produce. Comfortable rooms and a breakfast to defeat all but the largest appetite, all served with friendly chat and good humour,

Fabulous warm welcome - literally. Roaring fire, free hot drinks all day and comfortable rooms.
Their food is fabulous, huge portions - the trifle has to be seen to be believed.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Boots were left to dry close to the fire overnight so nice and dry for next day's walking.
Friendly dog.
