“Sri ChannakeshavaSwami temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

This is vishnu temple situated 60km from Hassan. The specialty of this temple is the granite pillars, no pillars are alike, each and every pillar is completely different. There is one pillar which has all the Hindu gods in it! . When you are visiting it, don't forget visit Halebidu just 40km away and shravanabelagola which you will find on the way from Banglaore.

if anyone is interested in photography of art and culture, they must be here for atleast once. this place / temple is very old, about 1000 yrs old, operating temple, made of soap stone, and very delicate architecture. approx 200 Kms from Bangalore, worth visiting this place.

Really great historical, and architectural marvel to visit while travelling on the Hassan route - make sure to hire a guide who can tell you all about the legends and stories :)

“Photographer's paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

If you love taking pictures of architecture, Halebidu is a must on your list of places to visit. Otherwise as well, this is a nice place to visit and see the marvelous history that we have inherited.

One tip, there not many good places to have food around. Time your visit such that you don't have to search for food around or carry your own.
